The Fence
Nigga feeling bored…
Lemme go ahead and see…
Lemme check my phone,
See if she still fuckin’ wit me.
I had to duck out,
Shit was getting out of hand…
She was upset,
But I’ll fix that later on…
I just needed to breathe, man.
I just needed a lil break…
And I was gon get back later,
This bitch keeps stressing me bout this & that…
But she does me a lot of favors.
I left for a minute,
This bitch hit me every day!
Mad texts,
In her feelings,
I’m tryna tell her be easy,
It’s okay. ...

The Heart & the Mind-3
The fact that you love
The fact that you beat
Your optimism through it all
That makes you special,
And so different from me.”
Heart listened as Brain spoke,
And got familiar with her new beat
And then she finally opened up to admit:
“Brain, you really did warn me.”
Brain nodded her head
She only wanted Heart to see…
“If I come off harshly
Please forgive me…
But I’m here to protect you
And to protect me.
I am at the Crown,
That is the head
You are at the chest.
I am a being of...

But what if he is the one?
And it’s just not the right time?
What if we just need a little space
And once we’ve had it, it’ll be fine?”
Hearts naivety caused Brain to roll her eyes:
“Why’s the focus on him?
Sounds like a classic case of denial.
Heart, sometimes you’re way too fickle.
Way too fragile!”
From Brains words,
Heart became deadly quiet.
So Brain laid in:
“Didn’t you notice how he threw off your rhythm?”
Heart only nodded,
So Brain continued,
“And didn’t you crack a little bit after each...
And it’s just not the right time?
What if we just need a little space
And once we’ve had it, it’ll be fine?”

The Heart & The Mind-Pt 1
“This hurts so much,”
Heart whined,
“Maybe we should just keep trying.”
“I don’t know about you,”
Brain stated calmly,
“Every time you do, you wind up back home crying.”
“But he said he loved me,
And he says it all the time…”
Brain rolled her eyes…
Here we bare witness to Heart vs Mind.
“If he did he’d be here,
If he did he’d respect you.”
Brain told Heart,
“It only FEELS like love,
It only FEELS special.”
“But it must be!”
Heart argued…
“I’ve never felt...

Promise
The next one to fall short,
I will not wait til it adds up,
I’ll be out, steering clear…
Leaving him in the dust.
No more loving potential…
Because it’s the potential to be disappointed…
No more waiting for promised to be fulfilled…
No more waiting for it all to be worth it.
My hearts been scarred and bruised,
But that’s partially my fault…
My fault for settling,
Turning a blind eye,
& Feeling bad for having my own flaws.
No more settling for the anxiety…
No more chasing
Because it’s beneath me…
No more work...
I will not wait til it adds up,
I’ll be out, steering clear…
Leaving him in the dust.

Man to man,
You really messed up
Broke this heart that now
I’m left to heal…
My girls so broken,
She’s so effected by little “nothings”
For her, everything’s a big deal.
You really fucked up,
No matter what,
It’s like my love not enough…
no matter what I show her,
She’s too hurt to believe it
And she lets it roll off of her shoulder.
You dropped that ball,

Normal Girl Like Me
Where do I fit in?
Ain’t no place to be.
Bad bitches- can’t sit with them…
Sometimes, it’s kinda hard being me.
Because I’ll get on FB or IG…
And fake bodies being praised are all I see…
And for just a “normal” girl like me?
Truthfully… it’s a bit unsettling.
Cause no matter what,
Next to them?
Im not enough,
Even if my esteem was as high as the sky…
I’m too “normal” to prevent my man’s wandering eye.
Ultimately, I wish I understood why?
Because my heart is pure.
I know I have good intent…
But...

So why do you do this like we’re in high school?
Barely take time to touch
Just as you get it up,
Wanna fast forward and rush,
Slow down & read the room!
Look around you,
Now look right at me,
Use all five senses,
Stop trying to just FUCK everything…
Do you even appreciate a woman’s body?
Or you heard “beating it up” is the way to go about things?
Not here,

Not a fan of all that silly ass pounding,
Actually it’s kinda funny
Mr. Jackrabbit,

Such a strange saying,

What in the world could be good about grief?
About missing that person you know you’ll never again see?

Wishing you could undo it all,

The one who smiled innocently,
The one untouched by the world.
Back when I was pure,
And didn’t know better,
Way before all the lessons
Before the gloomy weather.
The girl who enjoyed the sun,
And wondered about the moon,
