an aspiring street poet, I am working hard at it and I am studying every style, experimenting as much as I can, poetry like music is an art form of communication that takes a great deal of skill to be effective.. I aspire to reach that plateau.

.. seat in the back
no trophies as a father
they are denied,
no awards as a husband
she testifies,
no ribbons as a friend
at times we collide,
employee on the month
really not that guy,
done my best
came real close,
but big successes
garner’s the boast,
i celebrate when
i don’t burn the toast,
mirror me atlas
otherwise a ghost,
no stage, confetti
or MC to host,
...

from Daytona to Miami
the great party hosts,
with Savannah, the Carolinas
and Virginia Beach’s to boast,
“New York Highs”
a big “Boston Toast”
and don’t forget DC
it’s history and ghosts,
If it’s partying, history or
relaxation for most,
there is no place on earth
like the US East Coast.

here i stand
in front of thee,
on a world stage
for all to see,
time for some words
beautiful and humanly,
i denounce all killing,
and weaponry,
i propose a
brand new loveosophy,
please raise your glass,
and vow with me,
to share with those,
who live less fortunately,
to save the orphans,
care for the elderly,
to cherish the planet,
the air, land and seas,
lay down your hate, ...
in front of thee,

bottle to the holic,
needle to the addict,
skeletons in the closet,
memories in the attic,
started recreational,
simple innocent fun,
taking all bets,
first and the last one,
what happened next,
can never be undone,
no esteem
to mount a flex,
no place
on earth to run,
impossible weight of regrets,
mashing you down like a ton..
heart overstretched
like a rubber-band,
all that is left
are two open hands,
a sober lady

.. a calming word
gives you that look
they call the stink eye,
you know what that means,
you’d better not try,
used to warn me,
where not to roam,
“you’ll be 6 feet under
in a sea full of stones!”,
“sit your ass down
and hush up!” she’d say,
and “eat all that broccoli”
or you’ll pay the old way,
smiling like a crook
getting tucked into bed,
a pat on the cheek,
and a kiss on your head :-)

in earth’s existence,
where it’s not
life resistant,
a cosmos wink of an eye,
just a flash in the pan,
the “big time of man”,
in a millennium
do we try or do we die
carbons in the air,
fracking the ground,
drink and breath
if you dare,
the people hypnotized,
by political lies,
all looking around
with blank stares,
oceans choked with plastic,
forest abuse gone drastic,
as sea and wildlife
shamelessly die,
environmentally weakened,
domestically...

… the wal-tucky
was as at the Wal-tucky..
“that’s right” i’m that lucky,
sometimes i go
where the wildlings run free,
end of the grind,
standing in line,
eyes still burning
from madding scenes,
when a sadness,
not the usual kind,
unfolded right
in front of me,
🎵 “show me da money”,
“don’t care if it’s funny”
“don’t care if it’s muddy”
“i’m hoping that it’s bloody”.. 🎶
looking down
i saw right at my knee,
a babe about four
possibly three,
spouting thug life ...

those who think
with a one track,
like a train on a line..
forward to back
