POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Bang
Don't leave me alone with my thoughts!
All I want to do is sleep.
A million voices screaming at me!
Silence they will not keep.
All they do is yell and shout!
Why must they remind me
Of all the worry, pain and doubt?
The sound is overwhelming
I can not take it any longer
Every voice is loud and booming
I taste metal.
Here's the answer.
Now the voices will settle.

Master of Disguise
She smiles. She laughs.
She aches. She cries.
No one sees the pain behind her eyes, she's become a master of disguise.
The birth of her heart lies in a hospital bed, waiting to be pronounced dead.
Pale Death waits for none, and mourns not a single one.
She fights and cries alone inside, all the while having no one to confide.
She pleads with God, and Death to spare the life within the sterile walls, but neither hear her calls.
She sits and waits to hear the news, with a smile, she's seen the clues.
Already said her goodbyes.

Sometimes I wonder what I'd say
To the man who took my innocence away
As a child I knew no better
I did not see a monster
I saw a man, a family friend
What he did I didn't comprehend
As a child, I felt I was being loved, adored, as if I was his need
I didn't know it was wrong, I didn't know it was a misdeed
When I wonder what I'd say, to his face, as an adult
To find the right words is difficult
I wonder if I'm insane
For it always ends with me putting a bullet through his brain
To the man who took my innocence away
As a child I knew no better
I did not see a monster
I saw a man, a family friend
What he did I didn't comprehend
As a child, I felt I was being loved, adored, as if I was his need
