As I say my prayers
And lay myself down to sleep

I want to travel the world
Pack my bags and sail the seas
Collecting stamps and postcards
To send to you
To send my love
If I could I'd leave today
I'd fly so far away
I'd be lost to the world forever
I want to disappear
To hide all my fears
All my pain and dissapointments
But I won't leave today
Because I'm not quite ready
To leave behind the one
Ray of light I've left
So I will hold no hesitation

Summer of Love
These are the nights
I'll remember forever
Close my eyes
And hope it never ends
We were sitting by the water
Talking 'bout things
We didn't understand
But that was the summer
You made me believe in love
I tasted the sweetness
And it burned in my heart
There was nothing
No nothing
That I wouldn't give
To stay in that memory
With you forever shining
If you'll give me

Crying Songs
At timesI imagine
That somewhere in the world
Someone else is eating alone.
And at times I imagine
That they've locked themselves
In a candlelit room
With only crying songs
To comfort the emptiness.
At timesI imagine
That they're all wrapped up
In a blanket of doubt
And fear of forgotteness.
And at timesI imagine
That they're picturing
Someone like me
And we're both wondering
If the other is out there.

About someone I've never met

Hidden Pain
What am I doing?
How long can I play with fire
Before I burn?
This thing we have?
It hurts me
More than I could ever tell.
You make me feel
Like no one else.
With you I don’t pretend
I just feel.
It doesn’t change things
It only makes them hurt more.
Our perfect little secret,
A dark whisper
Hidden behind averted glances.
I don’t pretend no one sees
I know they do.
I just don’t care.
Your smile, your laugh
It reaches into my heart
And warms the darkest corners.
But it’s not...

Last Regret
Up until this point I’ve mistaken
A heart of iron for a tongue of silence.
She’s so much stronger than I could ever be.
And my biggest regret is that I put
Something so pure through pain
For a pathetic waste of space like you.
But if there’s any light left
It’s that we’re both better off
And you have exactly what you deserve.

Midnight Lover
I keep looking for Mr. Perfect
And all I find is Mr. Right Now.
It’s 3 o’clock, the city sleeps
You’re standing at my door
Looking for a little midnight love.
I open the door, invite danger in,
You lean down and kiss me
Say you love me, say you need me
I want to believe you though I know
Nothing you do is ever true

The Story of Us
19 years worth of stories
To pull from the vaults of my mind
But the one I want the most
Still isn’t up with the rest
So tonight we’ll sit down
Make sure and get every word
Penned down right to
The story of us.
It’s always been me and him
If not you and her
Never quite on the same page
Either one ahead or two behind
We’ll I’m gonna make some changes
Let’s jump to a new page
Grab some pens and a drink
Finally get around to writing

Beautiful
What does beauty mean to you?
To be admired and praised
To be flawless and adored.
To me it means perfection.
Never allowed to show pain
Or any resemblance of feeling.
How could anything in life
Be wrong for you?
Face of an angel
What more could you want?
A voice? To be seen?
There’s no importance
In being loved for your soul.
Everyone wants to be you
But would they have the strength

Crossed Intention
I watch the darkening sky
As clouds or grey roll in
And block the sun from my world.
An unsettling cold sinks in
Leaving me frozen from inside to out.
Any warmth that was left vanishes
When I see the surprise you've left.
I know your intentions are pure.
The harm goes unseen by you
But to me it screams volumes,
Pounding from deep within my mind.
Blinding red rage obscures my vivion
So I don't see my hands balling,
My fists raising high.
But I feel them crashing down.
I lash out words meant to hurt you
Turning something...

Maybe
Here we go again
The tears will be wiped for good
Say you love me - forgive and forget
Finally you'll come back home
'Cause you realized it was wrong.
And here I go again
Throwin' pennies down an old wishin' well
hoping some daises take me from hell
Maybe if I'd never let you leave
You'd still be here with me.
That's what I've been praying for
Lay down at night, holding a maybe tight.
Maybe my nightmares of regret
Will fade to dreams of love
Which bring you back to me.
