I am alone
I am looking into the unknown
Staring at the bottom of another empty bottle
searching for an answer, and reason, as my flesh becomes nothing more than carrion

Awaken by the sounds of soft whimpers
Setting up to check on what's going on
to find a pillow full of unwanted tears a heart of brokenness.

He was always there right from the very start,
His precious grandchildren captured his heart,
