as the world was gearing up to:
it's usual... i decided to stop smoking...
and find the crucial difference
between iggy pop &
tom waits...
ever since: my blue valentine...
of the latter...
i never quiet took off from the stooges -
until of course: the bowie years...
of the former...
an exercise in freedom of speech -
blunt knife politico -
molotov cocktail thrown into
a cesspit -
and...
here's to going to bed by 12am. ...
it's usual... i decided to stop smoking...
and find the crucial difference

a great absurdity of life
comes in no lesser
form than...
as it comes...
when using
a knife and fork...
to eat a chicken thigh...
or a chicken drum-stick...
without
the joy of using the hands...
of the two households...
where a chicken was eaten
with a knife and fork...
and where a chicken was
eaten with bare hands...
profanity: when enough
meat remains on the bone
that a dog will gladly bite...
otherwise a household...
where even the ends of...
comes in no lesser
form than...
as it comes...
when using

giving up smoking: the ritual
this heart throws itself into an architecture that
once was...
whatever it may have been:
now... a "slacking" off-shoot of a pyramid:
piled up as such... but: a stagnant heap
of rubble...
i have to dare to call it a heart...
a heart will be content with such matters...
a hill of rubble or a glistening pyramid / sun-dail...
but the mind:
if it's a cube... and it is a kabaah...
would the ottoman mind it
being precious... when he sights his envy
of the hagia sophia?
...
once was...
whatever it may have been:

two days compounded
yesterday's completion - 2 gratis: 1
yes... cold-turkey for a day...
the one will do it...
i just smoked a second one...
and the "hit" is not as benevolent...
simple arithmetic...
a carton is 200 cigarettes...
that's 200 days...
if i stick to this "pattern"...
no pointless cigarettes...
with coffee first thing in the morning:
on the medical "fast"...
after a grand meal...
cold-turkey throughout the day...
one balanced with a generous
amount of bourbon: surfing
the night-cap...
this could work... ...
yes... cold-turkey for a day...
the one will do it...
i just smoked a second one...

how not to quit smoking
how not to quit smoking...
what a cods-wallop!
you can hear the stories of smokers
of a packet a day for 20 years:
perhaps they started in the vein:
of a rebellious teen:
going full cold-turkey and abruptly
quitting -
sometimes relapsing...
personally: i don't want to quit...
that there's a myth of coffee and cigarettes...
last time i checked...
there were the people who would
smoke when drinking alcohol...
the smell and the taste of tobacco...
come to think of it...
it was...
what a cods-wallop!

something has been completed -
a year's worth of credit...
/ invested in bone churning...

dig a spine's worth of a bowing ape:
take to concerning your self
(in the reflective) rather than
yourself (the reflexive -
in the immediately: "necessary")...
index details protruding...
bake a pizza...
slobber your tongue and lips
over an oyster or...
a smoked salmon on rye...
with enough mayo and cucumber...
and dill...
and rainbow trout caviar...
all this makes perfect sense...
none of the rest does...
hide: and attention-seeking
whore-ups... base: value... ...

which is music in a nutshell...
hell... with all those guitar virtuosos...
to name a few... joe satriani...
john petrucci or steve vai...
but it wasn't what i was looking for...
working backwards... something on the lines
of tom verlain...

sometimes lyrics are... bothersome -
well... and the virtuoso music is simply:
