POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Snippets of me.
Venomous Words
I see the look in your eyes
Words flashing in your iris
Before your lips move
Mouthing mere mutters
Yet your tongue darts out
A serpent’s flick
Twisting and striking
Fangs sinking into my flesh
Stinging brutally
Venom seeps from your glands
Injected deep
Spreading through my veins
Circulating around every part of me
Paralyzing me with your voice
Destroying what’s left inside
As I bleed internally
Left to search for the last dose
Of antivenom before it consumes me whole
Words flashing in your iris
Before your lips move
Mouthing mere mutters
Yet your tongue darts out
A serpent’s flick
Twisting and striking
Fangs sinking into my flesh
Stinging brutally
Venom seeps from your glands
Injected deep
Spreading through my veins
Circulating around every part of me
Paralyzing me with your voice
Destroying what’s left inside
As I bleed internally
Left to search for the last dose
Of antivenom before it consumes me whole

Fractured Walls
They tremble, trying to release the horror buried deep,
yet all they manage is a shudder, like a silent scream,
cracks disperse with every disarray, heralding collapse.
If only they could tear out my larynx, speak in my sleep
for I'm unable to utter the darkness we both witnessed,
voice out our eruption, before we crumble into ruins and demise.
Turn into ashes, together.

cracks disperse with every disarray, heralding collapse.
If only they could tear out my larynx, speak in my sleep
for I'm unable to utter the darkness we both witnessed,
voice out our eruption, before we crumble into ruins and demise.
Turn into ashes, together.

With Time
Waves surge forward
As the islet slowly erodes in the sea
Swallowed into its depths
Until it can no longer crest
To catch a breath
Submerged and interred in the seabed
Lost in a hole of nothingness
With the flowing hourglass

Swallowed into its depths
Until it can no longer crest
To catch a breath
Submerged and interred in the seabed
Lost in a hole of nothingness
With the flowing hourglass

Like a Mummy
Like a mummy, remove my core,
desiccate me with natron to dry my depths,
so I stay composed, wrapped neatly with linen,
shielded with resin against scrutiny.
Kept in a tomb within my mind,
sleeping with waning remnants of my hopes,
meticulously crafted expectations,
beautifully decorated as hieroglyphs,
safeguarding my vulnerable, hollow corpse,
just like a mummy.

Be Nice to Mice
Be nice to the mice family living within your walls
Wandering quietly, not as bothersome as a louse
Sneaking food to survive, though they left crumbs for you
It’s not much, but they thought it’d be kind to leave a few
They’ve tried to seem more than pests, offering a song
While you poison their food, they were singing “Le Festin” all along
They couldn’t, pushed away like a burden carried your chest
Not worth a breath, let alone sharing a heart with such unwanted guest
To you, they remained outsiders, undeserving and small
They’ve...

Never Lasting Gobstopper
Unless you’re Willy Wonka
Don’t offer me a glimpse of your stash
For you’ll find me spellbound
Drowned in the chocolate river
Craving your Everlasting Gobstopper

Spoil the Page
each review stirs a second thought
reckoning the ink’s worth
to escape the inkwell
through my quill
or not to
reckoning the ink’s worth
to escape the inkwell
through my quill
or not to

The Witch
Wrinkled figure, old cane in hand
Little kids knock on the door
A loud shriek echoes through the house
A sign to leave their friend behind
Safe in the dark, unlit oven, napping
To avoid waking the witch’s wrath
While shadows creep outside

Old Mickey Mouse Clock
No longer the same,
the clock stopped its tick-tocks,
gone beneath a heap
with every forgotten item.
Dust creeping every nook,
making the glass cover blurry,
the numbers on the dial
barely seen through,
everything is broken with neglect.
How you would wish
for it to be here still,
to rewind the time,
care for the Mickey Mouse clock
for better times.
Did it always hold such value?
the clock stopped its tick-tocks,
gone beneath a heap
with every forgotten item.
Dust creeping every nook,
making the glass cover blurry,
the numbers on the dial
barely seen through,
everything is broken with neglect.
How you would wish

Scorpions
they gripped tightly
with their pedipalps
refusing to crawl out
from the lacrimal gate
hidden from sight
in their wellspring
briny rivers flowing
down my skull
beneath the flesh
leaving a burning ache
behind the mask
stinging trails
of micro scorpions
that no one sees
with their pedipalps
refusing to crawl out
from the lacrimal gate
hidden from sight
in their wellspring
briny rivers flowing
down my skull
beneath the flesh

Loving Coins
Tossed coins on the TV table, counting with one hand,
I head to the shop around the corner, groceries in tow.
First coin buys me a buildable Mr. Potato Head
saying the words i needed you to say,
second brings affectionate sweets to melt my dismay,
third, a chocolate bar that shows it cares,
with the fourth and fifth, a onesie for you to wear.
A perfect version of you, just right and needed,
a lasting token from the change, so you won’t see me as a waste.

Hollow
Dark wells fill my soul, a cold, empty space
Quenched by the drizzle's kiss, teasing its crave
Soon fleets, slipping away with a glint
Leaving me lost in the hollowness within

Soon fleets, slipping away with a glint
