Loving Coins
Tossed coins on the TV table, counting with one hand,
I head to the shop around the corner, groceries in tow.
First coin buys me a buildable Mr. Potato Head
saying the words i needed you to say,
second brings affectionate sweets to melt my dismay,
third, a chocolate bar that shows it cares,
with the fourth and fifth, a onesie for you to wear.
A perfect version of you, just right and needed,
a lasting token from the change, so you won’t see me as a waste.
