LOVE POEM

There are 168 hours in the week.
I spend 70 of them sleeping.
Or at least trying to.
I spend the other 98
Thinking about you.
The speck of orange in your eyes.
Your subtle smile
both a clever hint as to whats beyond your disguise.
Call it cliche
but every night as I fall asleep
my last thought
is the feeling of your lips on cheek.
Call it overplayed
but every morning when I wake up
the sound of you saying my name
is stuck on repeat
call me relentless
because I keep fighting for this
call me stubborn ...

Wishing Well
There is a wishing well here.
Here in my mind.
A wishing well to catch my every tear.
To hold this pain of mine.
I’ve been filling the pool for years.
In the reflection I’ve been
Watching all my fears
Prance around my shoulders
Mocking me
Taunting me.
The water spills over
Dousing my feet.
A cool sensation.
On my knees now,
I stare into this seemingly never ending pool of my history.
A copper flash
Something small…
It doesn’t match.
Grasping desperately…
Just out of reach.
In I plunge. ...
Here in my mind.
A wishing well to catch my every tear.
To hold this pain of mine.

Wonderland
Like Alice,
I tripped and fell in a hole.
In pursuit of something I didn't know.
Somehow,
I discovered a world that's only mine to hold.
A new environment.
This time I'm gonna leave a dent.
Leave my mark...
but still,
I'll leave a part a part of me there.
In the world I left behind.
Hoping maybe somebody will find...
that piece of me hidden in the snow.
But don't get me wrong.
I don't really want it back.
I don't want the life I had
I want to be like her.
And just like Alice,
i found a home.
And...

And He Wraps His Strong Arms Around Me
Nerves
Overwhelming me
Heart beat
Outracing me
Tripping over my own shoelaces
I'm clumsy
Heart broken
Hands cut open
Trying to pick up the pieces
Begging for someone to help me
Tears
Drowning me
Hands
hurting me
He picks me up, carries me away
I’m safe
Away from the debris
Setting me free
He cleans up the mess I left
And wraps his strong arms around me
Overwhelming me
Heart beat

A fallen lily
Dark and empty
the souls of broken seeds
a fallen lily
almost out of time
wisps of something...
a memory...
a better time
No where to go
drifting and alone.
trudging through this sodden ground
desperately wishing to be found.
Lacking shelter...
lacking a home.
all seems lost
lost in the wind
never to be seen again...

Mount Denali
If the world ends where would I stand?
on a pedestal in the minds of those who can remember?
or in the void of oblivion carved for those didn't get the chance.
we all fight for our place in society but in the end where does it get us?
our names...
carved on a plaque and emboldened in our worlds history?
or crumbled into sand.
like ashes from a cigarette bud that has been tossed out a cracked car window.
either one is noticeable.
So if the world ends, where will you be?
truthfully, I would like to be sand.
I want my ashes to float across...
