And He Wraps His Strong Arms Around Me
Nerves
Overwhelming me
Heart beat
Outracing me
Tripping over my own shoelaces
I'm clumsy
Heart broken
Hands cut open
Trying to pick up the pieces
Begging for someone to help me
Tears
Drowning me
Hands
hurting me
He picks me up, carries me away
I’m safe
Away from the debris
Setting me free
He cleans up the mess I left
And wraps his strong arms around me

The first 14 lines are heartbreaking!
The last 6 are heartwarming!!!
The imagery of your blood is frightening, not at all the red I want to think of when reading your poetry. I have someone close who cut yesterday but she lives 30 miles away and all I could do was wish I was there to hold her. I felt helpless talking to her on the phone about the things she was going through. She sent me a picture of her blood running across her tattoos. It scared the crap out of me. She went to work today so I know she is ok at least for today, but I worry. I hope those arms are there for you when you need them most Jess! J
