Everytime The Words Don't Come
Maybe my Muse is on hiatus
and just forgot to update his Facebook Status
Is he a another victim of a Covid-19 travel ban
or maybe on the side of the road, broke down in an old WV van
Times like these fill me with a sense of frustration
worst than a bad case of constipation
I am mentally numb like living through a terrible Chicago winter
and I feel exhausted like an out of shape sprinter
I want to be high like Sailor on shore leave drunk on rum
instead I feel empty-every...

I know that winning your heart is not a virtual reality game
and that fantasy and real life are not the same
There is no magic suit of amour or energy pill
that will aid me in the quest i seek to fulfill
No secret code that will allow me to defeat the winged devil
and advance to the final level
No backdoor to the dragon's lair
that i can enter to save you my maiden so fair
No access to Merlin's sorcery so i can make the planets align
so we can share a love divine
So your brave knight
will forever be...

I spend too much time jousting at windmills with people on Twitter
with those who are equally angry and bitter
The only reason I don't give up life without a fight
is because I still have my ability to write
I am like a lost kite in the wind
only the Lord know where I will be in the end

It begins with realizing that love made me

A Blessing In Disguise
Sub zero cold is all a part of the Lord’s plan
it gives me time to grow my inner man
In silent reflection
I realize I am light years away from his perfection
As I watch the snow fall from the skies
like frozen tears from an Angel’s eyes
My mind is moved by an epiphany
that the goal of this of life is to learn to love unconditionally
So, once again to Arctic wind chills I rise
but, now I know it is all – A Blessing In Disguise
it gives me time to grow my inner man
In silent reflection

Valetine's Day
True love is not about cards and flowers
but, about who has your back in the desperate hours
When real life comes to call
and your the guest of honor at it’s monster’s ball
It’s about having a shoulder on which you can rely
even if it’s just a place to cry
Someone there when things are high and low
and remains no matter how things go
If you found that person you are blessed
for me I continue on that quest
I hope for you love will stay
and you are together-for another Valentine’s Day.

Thousands of people stormed the Capitol with guns, bombs and zip ties
all bc they believe Trump's voter suppression lies
Hoping to pull off a B&E without any repercussions
about that they needed to have more discussions
Because now they're on the FBI's most wanted list
being arrested even when they physically resist
On the way to jail they wail and moan
about a failed coup attempt in hopes for Biden to be dethroned
These idiots were returning to their Village
to live a life of White Privilege
But Queen Karma...
all bc they believe Trump's voter suppression lies

For an end to hunger and dread
and that everyone gets fed
With enough water to drink
like in my kitchen sink
An end to all illness and disease
the answer to the prayers of millions on their knees

or for you to drop by to say hey
Just put these things on your list

That we live in harmony with respect

FLOTUS killed off all the WH roses
and looks down on us with her cold steel poeses
News that she cares is all fake
and about the hungry I am waiting for her to say "Let Them Eat Cake"

I noticed that my fuel was low
so, I headed for the nearest CITGO
I saw a woman standing here
a rare beautiful but I tried not to stare
I was instantly double minded
and by the sunlight partly blinded
I wanted to make a pass
but I only came here to get some gas
Immediately I remembered I was low on dough
but thought it doesn't cost anything to say hello
From the minute I heard the sound of her voice
I knew I made the right choice
But what I didn't know
