I am a broken soul who's strings can't sing
I am the humming-bird who's wings won't bring
I am the tired boy who dreamed of God
I am the deadened man who's eyes are dim
I am the joy of life who's days grow thin
Upon the rocks I threw the world
Under the moon the sky unfurled
Beneath the sea the darkness spoke
Inside my heart a sadness woke
The birth of love did shake with grief
As a silent angel the unknown thief
Stole my sun and cast out my way
Betook my hope and felled the day
No more the ocean to stay the fall
No more a sanctuary...
I am the humming-bird who's wings won't bring
I am the tired boy who dreamed of God
I am the deadened man who's eyes are dim
I am the joy of life who's days grow thin

The Weaver of Words
I wove the words
The forgotten ways
I spun a web
Of the memory's days
I wished you well
What will be was
Words woke in the whim of the wild love
The forgotten ways
I spun a web
Of the memory's days
I wished you well
What will be was
Words woke in the whim of the wild love

Oath
I soared the skies and dipped betwixt hills,
I leveled mountain might with the strength of my will,
For none was greater than the lofty gaze,
Of the childish oath of old.
I slew the foes of the silver seas,
I outlived the wisdom of the deep rooted trees,
For none was more cunning than the wily way,
Of the childish oath of old.
I stepped between the rifts of the world,
I spun among the heights of horizon unfurled,
For none could pierce the light of the path,
Of the childish oath of old.
I rivaled gods and humbled kings,
I woke...

You
You betrayed me once. You betrayed her before.
And you swore
That your life was sacred
You would threaten it - No more
You nearly broke, you nearly fell
All was nearly lost again
But all life awoke
And broke the spell
That nearly snuffed out the life of men
A promise made, a promise kept
A battle has been won
Yet war still wages
And love still wept
In waiting the risen son
I come before you night and day
As a beacon of hope and truth
To shed love and light upon the way
And joy in the soul of youth
So...
And you swore
That your life was sacred
You would threaten it - No more
You nearly broke, you nearly fell
All was nearly lost again
But all life awoke
And broke the spell
That nearly snuffed out the life of men
A promise made, a promise kept

Why
Why?
My human eyes gaze at the sky,
The Beauty imprisoned by the lie,
My tormented soul wishes to fly,
My body aching, begging to die.
Why?
Beauty sleeps in the heart,
True infinity in everyone's hope,
Reality and serenity so far apart,
Oblivion promised at the top of the slope.
Why?
Constrained by man's domination,
Twisted by vanity and frustration,
Fearful of the only solution,
Absolute peace in emancipation.
Why?
The dreamer refuses to live a lie,
Impossibility no matter how hard he may try, ...

This Aimless Song
I rake the air,
For the image now gone,
A faded memory,
An unknown treasure,
An unspoken song.
I cling to the pieces of the deed,
But never will a thought be enough,
To conjure life in what had me freed,
That is now my bane,
My wound, my unwanted greed.
I ask for less,
I got it all,
The empty room,
The frigid hands,
I look down the well once filled,
Brimming with tears of the shaky haze,
Of roses red, of passion bright,
When all around was filled with light,
Far gone days, in a daze,
I wagered....

Shadows Gone
She has gone
The moment passed
It was lost
So fast so fleeting so beautiful
A silent smile
A quiet kiss
A lasting memory
But doomed to be
No more to me
But a final sigh
Of resignation
Because she is free
And all I have
Is a memory.
I cannot hold
The hope, the wish
That it is all a dream
That I'll arise tomorrow
To only see
Her tired eyes
The windows sorrow
Those shining stars
The lips of blood on winter snow
The warmth of a beating heart
To fill the void
So long ago
To hold me tight
To...

The Untold Story
I have long known a strange man,
His identity, a complete mystery,
He seemed content to wander without a plan,
Saying: 'I will know when I meet it on my journey'.
Not a sigh escaped his lips,
As he pursued his aimless task,
Uncaring for what draped his hips,
Not a worry lined his tranquil mask.
In pity I once offered companionship,
Or maybe it was vague curiosity,
But he gently declined my friendship,
Responding: 'My path must be walked solitarily'.
He pursued ever onward so tirelessly,
Answering the unseen beacon, ...

The Other
I cannot write.
The star is dead.
The poet in me returns to slumber.
So fleeting the instant, so silent the time,
Already Fall slips into December.
The twilight has come.
The end is near.
The final sigh of Winter.
Nature heaves, my heart dies.
Life poised on a balanced whisper.
That cannot fly, is already gone,
Far away, twisted by a convulsive mutter.
I am lost, I am dread,
The illusion so faint, so sweet.
It was said, I once said.
You are mine, I am yours,
In you fulfilled, I drink and meet.
Lost, oh lost, hopelessly...
The star is dead.
The poet in me returns to slumber.
So fleeting the instant, so silent the time,
Already Fall slips into December.
The twilight has come.
The end is near.

Realm Of The Dream
Dust billows aimlessly on a rolling breeze,
Carrying a scent of aridity,
Smothering the frail shoots of life that never cease,
To contend with Nature obliviously.
The rays of light descending so majestically,
Interminably swallowed by the caress of their sisters,
As the God of creation fades so slowly,
Blanketed by a shadow of cold moonlit visitors.
Under the stern gaze of the heavenly kings brilliance,
The weary souls slumber in the embrace of humility,
Their wandering minds in a state of illusory innocence,
As their spirits soar over...

No More
I hear the silent death of words yet to be uttered,
Seeping down the abysmal corridor of failed beauty,
Strangled by a constriction in my soul - a moment where none suffered,
Futile, this thought, already gone, faded away into yet another forgotten memory.
Hope swells, joy stuttered,
I laughed again, but as always, somewhat hesitantly,
The vision cast down, a moment drew by, chilly, the solitude, yes, just, lonely,
Something rose, the words enshrouded, barely murmured,
But no more, no more, forever shut off to me.
I grasp, I clasp - I pour over...
Seeping down the abysmal corridor of failed beauty,
Strangled by a constriction in my soul - a moment where none suffered,

Journey
My every gaze ends at the foot of a door,
One that looms with mystery,
My longing hungers to explore,
That infinite possibility.
I am told to follow the path in front of me,
And this I am often reminded,
That I must began my life journey,
That curiosity is blinded.
So I drag on to some unseen end,
Hoping to achieve fulfillment,
What others need, I can't comprehend,
All they see is entertainment.
So as I go about today,
Busy with routine occupation,
I secretly plan to disobey,
To be free of this oppression.
