Poet Introduction
Every word is a whispered kiss.
Sonnet - 'Euphoric'
What beauty now doth pervade my senses,
Of perfect shape and soothing, gentle touch,
Who maketh me abandon all pretenses,
And kiss the lips that tempteth me so much?
To her I surrender, full and whole,
And follow her in mutual ecstasy
Which joineth us in body, heart and soul,
Timeless, endless bliss, our revelry.
Yet knowing, still, that all things have an end,
Amidst the joy, there lingers a despair:
For soon, where lustful pleasures we inscend,
Time will come when she'll be gone from there.
For now, I bask in lover's warm...

Trial of the Lilithite - 6/7
Ruthless waves dug salty graves,
As dozens faced their doom--
Destroyed the ships in splintered strips
To make the sea our tomb.
The Cross was scoured and I, the coward,
Stayed right where I was hid;
I was afraid! The whole town paid
For what the preacher did.
Face down in mud and coughing blood,
the priest lay on the ground
With moan and yelp - yet none would help
(They feared they would be drowned).
Tucker sputtered, coughed and muttered,
"Children -- I implore,
Help your priest! Have me released,
And kill that...

Trial of the Lilithite - 5/7
Hung limply there, upon the air,
With great sea wall behind;
Her lovely dress a filthy mess,
Her voice fierce and unkind:
"THOU HATH SEEN ME MADE UNCLEAN,
STRIPPED OF ROMANIPEN¹
BECAUSE OF THEE, FOUL MOKADI² --
YET FATE'S WHEEL TURNS AGAIN."
Hovering there, she said a prayer,
"DEVLESA AVILAN³;
Then her face changed, her eyes deranged:
"BRING ME YOUR HOLY MAN."
With brow uncreased, our pious priest
Stepped up to break the spell:
"O foulest witch -- the Devil's bitch!
I cast thy soul to...

Sonnet - 'Captive'
Roused from sleep, I find I cannot see.
My eyes are covered, scarf tied 'round my head.
Attempting to remove it, to be free,
I find my wrists bound tightly to the bed.
"Don't move," comes a familiar silky voice,
"It's pointless, love, to try to make escape.
You'll find that you've been given little choice
But to let the evening take its shape."
I beg her not to loosen the restraints,
But to free my eyes, so I can watch,
But rather than acknowledge my complaints,
She kicks her savage claiming up a notch.

Trial of the Lilithite - 4/7
The ships hit land at my command
My orders good and loud,
Finally free from weeks at sea,
We rushed off in a crowd.
Tucker chose some men from those
Who served aboard his fleet,
And as their boss, bid giant cross
Stand high above the street.
They drove it down, and named the town
For their beloved priest,
Measured some, and set it plumb,
And planned a lavish feast.
Such celebration -- affectation,
Dancing, wine and song;
Yet in my gut dwelt maddening rut:
Something very wrong.

Trial of the Lilithite - 3/7
All ships stopped there, and formed a square
Around their ranting priest,
Leant on their decks, they craned their necks;
On murder they would feast.
They held her down, her ankles bound,
While Tucker's face was stern.
"A cross we'll make -- a wooden stake
Upon which she shall burn."
My mouth agape, hair on my nape
as firm and course as wire,
I stared in shock, clutched Tucker's frock
And pleaded, "End this, Sire!"
"Master Ben, my closest friend,
Thy faith must be restored --
By God's hand, we'll...

Inferno in Oz - 7
Troubled, Glinda sits in thought,
Upon her shining ruby throne;
Trouble brews within her lands,
That chills her to the bone.
"What can be done," she asks the air,
"To calm the furious Dorothy?
What magic could reverse her rage?
Is there such remedy?"
"NEVER," comes a hateful voice,
"I SHALL NOT BE SO PACIFIED.
YOU SAID YOU COULD SEND ME HOME,
BUT CLEARLY, YOU HAVE LIED.
BUT MY -- WHAT PRETTY CHINA DOLLS!
REAL AS REAL, THOUGH SEEMING FAKE --
WHAT A SAD THING IT WOULD BE
FOR ONE OF THEM...

Trial of the Lilithite - 2/7
"Stay back," he bid, and so I did,
"No talking to the crew."
With that, the priest said, "Come, you beast,
There is work to do."
A week went past, until at last
I could take no more;
Down I clambered, to where they chambered,
And rapped upon the door.
'Be gone," he cried -- my eyes went wide --
His voice was laboured, strained;
" 'Leave us be' was my decree,
Ben! Are you addle-brained?"
I stood there shocked -- He never talked
To me that way before --
Their noise and such...

Trial of the Lilithite - 1/7
We paid our scrips, and boarded ships
To America's eastern shore,
Six hundred head, by Good Book led,
Though sickness took twelve more.
Our holy man, he kept our clan
In service to the Lord,
Our souls were clean, except (unseen)
The stowaway on board.
A Gypsy girl, her hair a-curl,
Hid in the cargo hold,
Weeks deprived, yet she survived
The rain, and waves, and cold.
A mere sixteen she must have been,
Though lovely was her form;
Eventually, she came to me
P'raps frightened by the storm.
In foreign tongues,...

Inferno in Oz - 6
Green whistle cuts the quiet air --
An Emerald City telegram;
A summons from the Royal Guard
Addressed to Jellia Jamb.
"That silly man. What could this be?
I think the fellow's growing dim."
And yet, she heeds the whistle's call,
And rushes off to him.
"Why have you called, O Royal Guard,"
She asks the man of whiskers green,
"What danger could we all be in
If it's not heard or seen?"
"But I do see," he answers back,
Staring through his emerald shades,
"See those twinkles, far...

Sonnet - Acrostic
Shine a light, please -- no clue where I'm at,
Or how I came to wind up in the trunk--
My arms are zipper-tied behind my back;
Everything is blurry... was I drunk?
Be a pal and get me out of here?
Or were you the one who shoved me in?
Don't just stand there, man -- can't you hear?
You know, the air in here is stale and thin...
How will you explain this to our friends?
Every one of them saw us together,
Let's agree: this whole debaucle ends,
Part ways, and drop the whole affair forever?
Money? Drugs? Whatever you desire;...

Sonnet - Eclipsed
Beauty is a thing found everywhere:
A butterfly, a sunrise or a smile,
A baby's laugh, the smell of fresh, clean air,
Or when that special song comes on the dial.
The first few moments of the morning sun,
So comfortable within the bed's cocoon,
Basking in the day as yet unspun,
As brilliant azure sky blots out the moon.
Yet waxing on the elegance and grace
In every moment we can recognize,
Is nothing when compared to lover's face,
Her touch, her kiss, the twinkle in her eyes.
Her beauty leaves all other types to shame --...
