Broken Dreams
Dishonest promises
Mixed with a false sense of confidence
Incompetence
Hoping one day that I wake up and regain consciousness
And realize my accomplishments
But If I could
I’d turn back the hands of time
Go back to when the stars were aligned
And pray that I could somehow make you mine
But at least not in this life
Cause I really want to make this thing right
While I’m struggling through the night
As I’m looking at the knife on the table
Thinking maybe if a cut a few cables
That I’ll begin to bleed
And you’ll come heal me
And...

Short Story: Silver and Gold
Once upon a time there was girl
She was kind of lost in this world
She looked here and there in the search of true love
Until she decided not to depend on luck and ask the man above
She got on her knees and asked God why?
Why in all of my searches have I not found the right guy?
They say good things come to those who wait
But I started looking at 21 and now I’m soon to be 28.
I know I’m your child and I’m sounding impatient
But can you please send somebody to end my frustration?
About a month later God answered her call
He knew of her struggles, her...

Walked to class and girl walked past and said, “Hey you!!”
“Do you remember me?”
I said no
And she said “Whoa” “Aren’t you J-Sly? I saw you perform with the Sigmas before”
Now I’m sitting there like damn, hope I don’t look like an asshole
So now I’m just staring looking deep in her eyes
It’s been about two years since I last dropped a line
One of the reasons I paused was because anybody can rhyme
Not many can say things that blow someone’s mind
Now I’m surrounded by visions from the past
Hoping that I can recall when she saw me last
Too long to...

Play By The Numbers
Let me tell you how I feel about numbers
When it comes to love
Have you ever been in a relationship
That you wanted to last 4ever
Hoping that no one gets between you
And divides your time 2gether
As I see all you need is honesty
With some trust strength and loyalty
So that when you put it 2gether the sum would be
All of me that you need
My ladies want to be referred to as a dime piece
Or a 5 star chick
But the thing I need
Is a woman who doesn’t need a value system to know what her true worth means
Because beauty is only skin deep...
When it comes to love
Have you ever been in a relationship

Promise
I had promised myself that I was gonna wait to tell you this
But I came across the realization that tomorrow isn't promised
And after internal battles with my conscience I found that the time is now
Ive learned on my many travels down memory lane that there is no use in waiting for a chance and missing it and regretting it
While the opportunity is in front of you and breath is in your body
I'm your number one fan
A smile comes across my face when and wherever I hear your name
You never cease to amaze me
Not only in your outward beauty but in the way...
But I came across the realization that tomorrow isn't promised

I had promissed myself that I would keep away from thevsad poems for a while but I felt that this one was kind of necessary due to recent occurrences. So this poem is dedicated to Ms.Riquita Jackson, the victims from the incedent in Newtown, and anyone else who recently found out there time was up.*
Tears rolling down faces, wishing for better days
Flowers sitting by your side as your body lays
I didn't know you but there's still a pain in my heart
I know your family's spirit must be torn apart

Hopeless
Have you ever been scared to lose something that you never had?
1st Corinthians 13:13
And now abideth faith, hope, and love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
I close my eyes when I see the sunrise and wait for the sunset.
That warm embrace reminds me of the day that we first met.
The beauty of your personality reflects in the atmosphere.
So now I feel your kind heart even when you aren't here.
Sad thing is that all days have to come to an end.
So I wait through the night so I can feel your presence again.
You got me thinking to...

Shy Guy
I have to admit I'm no good at talking to girls
Id probably get lost in her eyes and trapped in her world
Wandering in realm confusing my fantasies with my realities
All while wasting her time before I know if she is a match for me
Lost in a gaze looking for the right words to utter
And when they finally come out I always seem to stutter
One of my minds greatest mysteries, maybe it just wasn't meant to be
Thinking of a way to get out of this misery
Can't find a way through because I'm blinded by her smile
Though it is tough I know it is worthwhile

A Letter to the Sistas
To all the ladies of ebony decent;
"The target of my adoration
As well as being a blessing to the nation
Never mind to those
Who referred to you as nappy headed hoes
For you are the ones that God chose
To dawn queenly crowns and robes
My ebony queens
A true mystery to this Earth
Is how the other brothers don't seem to recognize your real worth
So often mesmerized by your hips and your thighs
That they often forget to take a look inside
But I know why
The skin you’re in is incomparable
In other words your black is beautiful...

The Prayer
My mind runs, I can't even catch if I got a head start
God please help me, I really never did fit in
But I know you made me special
But sometimes I can't help but think of all the precious things that I let slip away
Cause If I die today
I don't want my last memory to be thoughts about how I never got to see the world
Or even my popularity with the girls
Chances to express my feelings but I never said a word
Though I wanted to be heard....
I've made mistakes so I can't help but feel nervous sometimes
And I know I've sinned so I ask that you forgive all...

The Rain
I still remember all the love we shared
Passion like ours could never be compared
Aint nobody ever made love like we did…
We both been through our own earthquakes
Our bodies got weak and we made mistakes
And those are things that cannot be undid…
If our love was a little bit stronger
It might have lasted a little bit longer
Who would have known that we would come to an end?
Cut too deep to try to amend
I tried to pretend that I didn’t care but I can’t hide the fact that I am aware that life without you just aint fair and I don’t want to leave because...

Until the Beat Stops
If I could change the world I'd put you and me together, and if I had one wish I would make it last forever. I know that forever seems very long, but your heartbeat plays my soul’s favorite song. So I will stay as close to you as I can be, because our harmony seems to complete me. My main plan is keeping our two member band sound as strong as we can and make a love that will be rivaled all across the land. And at the end of the day there will be no doubt of who is the best, because as long as your here with me I don’t care about the rest after all we will rise and fall together like the sun...
