POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I tend to write solely free verse/ slam poetry but I dabble in short stories as well. Not really sure what else to say.
Brown
Brown.
The color of eyes.
The color of her eyes,
like milk chocolate that melt at the slightest touch of heat.
The color of her hair.
The color of her hair
like the dirt which brings forth life.
The color of her skin.
The color of her skin that translates so well to...
Je vais vous donner tout de moi, si vous faire la même chose.

Like Glass
The blood on her body started to boil.
Higher than any skyscraper could ever reach.
The light in her eyes died out
and became a sea of obsidian nothingness.
She encased herself in twelve ton steel
because her heart was a fragile piece of glass,
after so many heartbreaks,
one tap and she’ll break.
She couldn’t risk it,
so she pushed everyone away.

The World Is My Ecstasy
You grow up hearing
"Drugs are bad for you"
"Stay away from drugs"
but what they failed to tell you
is how good they make you feel
Even if short lived
The world became my ecstasy
For a moment I could forget all that was
Every bruise
Every heartache
Every Cut
With every rip
I could float deeper into the mystic unbound reality of the high
I could sit back and smile
even if I knew it would end soon enough
Even If I knew I had to go back to that house
But everyday I look forward to the time when ...
"Drugs are bad for you"
"Stay away from drugs"
but what they failed to tell you

I Love Her
There is girl
who is as beautiful as the sun
has hair the color of autumn
her skin ever so flawless as it was.
Today someone called her a name
I won't even say,
because it's that bad.
She crys her heart out
on the bathroom floor
and I want to comfort her
and tell that she was beautiful
I want to tell her
that I have spent an eternity
praying that she would notice me
but that would have made it obvious I was staring.
You're not supposed to look at girls that way
but I can't help it
because those eyes are the only...

I Still Love You
He felt the scars up and down her arm
with the tip of his index finger.
Tracing ever indentation that was left by a blade.
“Why did you do it?”
he asked.
She sighed and answered
“Because I had to.”
His brows furrowed not understanding
how she possibly had to do this to herself.
“I did it to control the pain.”
He trailed kisses from her wrist up to her neck,
“I still love you,”
he said enclosing her in his arms.

Something Is Wrong
When you stopped telling me to drive home safe,
I knew something had changed.
When you stopped calling me at 3:30 every day when you get off,
I knew something had changed.
When you stopped kissing me on the forehead every time we came in close for a hug,
I knew something happened.
When you stopped holding my hand tight like you used to,
I knew something changed.
When you stopped texting me every hour when I went out with my friends,
I knew you didn't care like you used to.
When you stopped kissing me goodnight,
I knew you...

How to Lie Well?
When my mother asks how the world's treating me,
I reply ‘good’,
even if it’s not the truth.
It is as if the words are branded
at the back of my throat
and as much as I want them to go away,
they have become a part of me.
Forcing me to lie.
Of course,
I’ve never been good at lying
but certainly the only way to lie well, is to do it often.

Tell Me You Don't Love Me
I’m sorry.”
she says,
nervously fidgeting with the keys in her hand.
You sigh.
Remembering all of the great times,
you and her shared.
You lightly run your fingers through your hair,
remembering all of the intimate moments between you too.
“Please say something.”
She says reaching out to touch you but you flinch away.
You stand in silence.
“Just go.” You whisper,
holding back all of the emotion
that would otherwise be spilling out in gallons of tears.
“Tell me you don’t love me and I'll go.”
She said, her bottom lip...

Do you love me?
He looked into her eyes
and everything faded to black.
The clock stopped ticking.
The waves stopped crashing.
The sun stopped shining.
Their eyes stopped blinking.
Their hearts stopped beating.
Everything stopped.
In his eyes, she could do no wrong.
“Do you love me?” he asked.
For a mere second,
a spark of doubt flashed in his mind.
For a mere second,
the colors started to reappear.
For a mere a second,
the clocks resumed ticking.
When she blinked,
his heart shattered.
All of the stars in her eyes...

Her
Pangs of jealousy filled my lungs
As I forced myself to breath.
My mouth a dry, barren wasteland
with gritted teeth as strong as mountains.
My fingers shaking ever so lightly,
Like leaves dancing in the wind.
In and out.
In and out.
I must remind myself
She walks as if she were
trotting alongside cotton candy clouds
Her hair bouncing with every step
The short stacatto of her heels
In sync with the stacatto of his boots
Together
Hand in hand
Fingers interlocking
Like matching puzzle pieces
They walk together as...

Damned
This disgusting, rotten, horrid world
Used to hold beauty
Oh so bold
But now
It’s like star
It’s been dead for a long time
But we still take and take from it
We pillage the soil and turn it to rot
And we are sad that the earth has died
Yet we are the destroyers of it
With our big huffing and puffing polluting machines
Humans are toxic and bring pain
Only pain
Pain and misery
To anything and everyone it just so happens to touch
Generations and generations before us
Have tried so hard to preserve our life
But...
