Draw breath

Destitute at best
You're the worst
Think of yourself first
A test
From the Universe
The powers that be
Tell me
Why
Sometimes I run away
Sometimes I stay
And drown in it
I inhale
All you did to me
Let it
Fill my lungs
And pull me under

how it goes
I guess)

it'll be fine
it'll be fine love
it'll be fine don't you
worry about the hard things
like sharp stings on your tongue
don't sweat it, hon
let's just get it done
like a clap of the hands
and then it's yesterday
and you're peeking over
your shoulder wondering
why you gave it a second thought
and a third and a fourth
'cause it'll be fine in the end
and even if it's not
we all just begin again
in one way or another
it'll be fine don't you

Hooligan
I see
Memories of you
Flickering in the reflection
Of my eyes
Through glass
As I walk past.
I feel
Something strange,
Something new
When I catch glimpses of you
In the crowd,
The light glinting
Off the perfect pearlescent points
Of your teeth
As your lips curve
Into a soft smile.
But it’s just a likeness
In that stranger
Passing by.
I recall you,
The way you held yourself
As you’d conduct energy
From the dwindling space
Between you
And me.

Quietly
Like a shy freak
Creep up next to me.
Make your move
This dance
So bittersweet.
This game
Not for the meek.
I'm weak
At heart
This bridge between us
Falling apart.
I'm drowning now
So sour now
Like a dour clown.
Growing tired now
Drift off to sleep
Somehow I've found
You in my dreams.
You're tugging at the seams
Of this fantasy,
Its coming apart in reams
Like pretty bolts
Of cloth,
Pinks and yellows
And greens.
Your eyes
Gleaming like ...
