i've been writing since the ninth grade. Started out doing love and pain stuff. Switched to more inspirational and instructive words as i've gotten closer to 50. lots of my work is self therapeutic. Hope to help someone else.
OBSERVATIONAL POEM

Add A Letter, Drop A Letter
Once again, misconstrued perception distorted my opinion of reality
My ignorance once more popped me dead in the grill
Pointed out my hubris
Forcefully reminded me that I should pay closer attention
I know a lot of words
Use em properly most times
Found a few I been messin up with big time
(Slave) and (En)Slave
Just realized that those people in pictures wearing shackles and dejected looks are actually people who are "enslaved"
They were beaten, tortured, and chained to prevent escape and self-defense
...

Spell Bound
In the midst of our kiss
you stroke my face
Then brush those same fingers down the center of my back
Your soft, rhythmic scratching caressing my spine
Body rocked by instant desire
I shiver
Your tactile spells upon me have now taken firm hold
And,
Like a bolt of lightning,
Your touch brings me to my knees
My hands are still at your waist
But now..
With muscles like jelly and unable to keep me standing
My face is pressed tight to your thighs
The wine of your kiss has me drunk on the...

Not Just Pretty
This woman is definitely pretty
Pretty in a way that makes my mind revise the definition of how pretty one woman can be
So pretty that my eyes seek refocus
'cause there's far more perfection than expected in that one face
But, please
trust me,
there is much, much more
Awestruck I am
As I realize that the beauty I see
is but a reflective shading of the magnificence that shines brightly within her soul
Like the brilliance of the summer moon shines before my eyes courtesy of the brightness of the faraway sun ...

After Mind Blowing Sex, Comes...
Every woman has what it takes to carry a man beyond the tame edge of pleasure and into the full depths of passion's embrace.
This is part of the magic that makes having a woman such a wonderful thing.
But it is the one you choose as your mate;
she, who during those mundane, everyday activities which make up the majority of your waking moments,
is also the one whose soul sings to yours in a way that elicits within you those same feelings found at the heights of mind blowing sex,
Oh now sex,
really good sex,
is one of life's greatest...

I see the world through the eyes of what I believe myself to be
Do not be offended if I describe you as being like I am
I simply see myself as the best me I can be
and am only transferring that high opinion of myself onto those who happen to cross my path
Thinking you are like me means I think you too are the pinnacle of what you as a human can be

Sometimes,
A question is not actually a challenge
It is,
actually,
merely a question
Never learned that in the church my parents took me to
A differing opinion is not an attack on your opinion
Even if the opinions are on opposite sides of the circle
Never learned that either
My belief in a thing does not make your disbelief incorrect
And facts do not need belief in order to be factual
Not everything needs to be a fight
Damn, I'm slow

Every woman wants to hear the words
which remind her that she is desired and appreciated
It is these words

Won't look at breakfast the same way any more

Let's take something fresh,
soft,
warm,
delicious,
and satisfying in its natural state
Heat it up
On both sides
Darken it a little
Crisp it a little
Put a lil protective cover on its outside
Make that center hot
But leave it "melt in your mouth" soft
Cover it in golden creamy, molten satisfaction
Slather on something sticky,
or fruity,
and deliciously sweet
Smell it ...
