POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Who's strings are they now
The world is the puppet master's stage
We're yanked around
Pulled by our strings
Carrying out the same tasks every day
Every day, week, month, yeah, decade
So monotonous
I can't be me
Be unique
Out of the ordinary
I get yanked back into place
What if I break my strings?
What if I stop following?
And start being
My own puppet master
We're yanked around
Pulled by our strings
Carrying out the same tasks every day
Every day, week, month, yeah, decade
So monotonous
I can't be me
Be unique
Out of the ordinary
I get yanked back into place
What if I break my strings?
What if I stop following?
And start being
My own puppet master

The fire in his eyes
As I looked into his eyes
They laughed at me
Took me by surprise
There's a fire in there
Crackling, Laughing happily
I'd follow those eyes anywhere
I worry that he can see through my disguise
"I'm not staring" I say to he
But I am staring at those warm golden eyes
I keep thinking it's not fair
That he can do that to me
And all I can think about is his golden stare
They laughed at me
Took me by surprise
There's a fire in there
Crackling, Laughing happily
I'd follow those eyes anywhere
I worry that he can see through my disguise
"I'm not staring" I say to he
But I am staring at those warm golden eyes
I keep thinking it's not fair
That he can do that to me
And all I can think about is his golden stare
