POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
My education and work experiences revolved around mathematical figures and computations. Never in my life did I imagine that I could write beautiful poetry; one that comes from the heart. "The Fire Within" is my first published book.
Summer in my Island Paradise
White sandy beaches along shorelines
greet the weary travellers
upon their arrival
relaxing moments
follow...
Swimming, parasailing and boating
will keep you fully occupied,
diving beyond coral reefs
gives you
thrills!
Summer
gives energy
to dormant souls
long crippled and wasted,
while the whole world watches.
Relaxation,
complete tranquility,
abundant fresh seafood,
as well as fruits and veggies of the season,
treatment like royalty--once in a lifetime experience!

I'm What I Am
My essence lies in my mind,
as I try to analyze everything
in a calmly fashion--
without any rash actions
before making decisions...
I'm an Earth sign -
that's why I'm down to earth
just like any typical Virgo,
although I'm always drawn to the water.
I could be both an extrovert,
or an introvert
depending on the situation,
and who I am with.
I have rubbed elbows with both:
the poor and the elite
that's why I consider myself
in-between them,
although I could be both -
poor as in nothing at all, ...

in a calmly fashion--
without any rash actions
before making decisions...

Day Of Enlightenment
I used to walk with fear in my mind,
as darkness fills the void in my heart
I fear not the bright sun that can blind,
but my own shadow, never to depart.
Now that I have awakened from a deep slumber
I feel rejuvenated and free from misguided beliefs
Faith deeply rooted keeps the glowing embers
grounded by traditions without signs of relief.
We were brainwashed for so long
by forces of Evil and keepers of Truth;
it's hard to see white when all you can see
is a black dot hiding in plain sight.
Sometimes their looks can be...
as darkness fills the void in my heart
I fear not the bright sun that can blind,
but my own shadow, never to depart.

Always a Country Girl at Heart
There was a beautiful young girl
who lived on a farm,
in the valley by the sea
where we used to swim and play
We fell in love with each other
both of us, just didn't know it
She has travelled the world,
tasted all kinds of food
She has been to Paris and Rome
but still longing for home
She was born country like me
and always a country girl at heart
Refrain:
She used to ride water buffaloes
standing on their backs
until they reach the mud bath
Do you think your cowgirl
can beat that?
Always a country girl...

TRUTH (acrostic-tanka)
Telltale signs of lies
Revealed through his rolling eyes
Under scrutiny
The sacred truth will come out
Held captive by the devils

DEATH and TAXES: Bloody Truth
Which comes first, life or death?
All of you would say life,
but I say otherwise;
there was destruction and death
before life was created.
There was darkness,
and everything was
just an empty space...
until the creation of the universe.
Then there was light!
So it's true, darkness comes first
before daylight...
and that's a fact, according to whom?
The truth of the matter is:
no one really knows!
You would say it was written
in the Bible according to Genesis,
but what if those were lies
manipulated by Satan
to make...

Nothing is Farther From The Truth
This is a tale about Johnny
who was sweeter than honey
Johnny who?
There was a handsome guy named Johnny
who was so funny, until he lost all his money
for the culmination of his lifelong dream -
becoming a beautiful Jhoanie...
Jhoanie met a rich rancher named Anthony
while riding in his white pony;
they fell in love, and after the matrimony
Anthony whispered to Jhoanie:
"Don't be surprised honey,
if I tell you I'm not really Anthony -
my real name is Antoniette.
I was afraid you won't marry me,
if I tell you the truth...
who was sweeter than honey

Can We Handle The Truth?
Freedom is to gun point,
as Christianity is to sword's blade
History has no place to anoint
regardless of how they were spread
The outcome, pretty much the same:
Bloody hell - what a shameful truth!
Why do we get mad and upset
when we receive what others get;
have we forgotten the golden rule?
"Do unto others what you
want others do unto you,"
and the popular law on physics:
"For every action, there's an equal,
and opposite reaction."
Then, there's this old adage from the holy book:
"An eye for an eye,...

History has no place to anoint
regardless of how they were spread

Down on the Bayou
Down on the bayou, down by the river
Birds are chirping, seeking food on the water,
while people are walking, jogging and biking;
They're on their own little world,
minding their own ways
on a lovely Memorial Day afternoon.
Down on the bayou, down by the river
Billy met us at downtown for dinner;
I can't believe this nice guy Billy
For a JAG lawyer, he was so funny
"I'm not much of a good cook," he said.
"I cook my eggs in a microwave!"
Thank you Billy for such a good laugh,
and for the delicious dinner ...

My Wandering Soul
Into the river of doubts my poor soul lightly treads--
carefully examining each rock under murky waters
on which my bruised and tired feet slowly set upon...
The farther I go, the more I get lost--
wandering aimlessly in this sea of confusion,
totally disoriented, trying to find my way at all cost...
Now that my mortal soul is weak and weary--
as the sunset of life is waning through the horizon,
the pearly gates of salvation seems dreary...
I solemnly pray to God to grant my final mission:
to bring this chaotic WORLD into ORDER,
so...

on which my bruised and tired feet slowly set upon...
