Poetry is my voice for change. I have 12 kids with my husband of 22 years. The poetry I write comes from books, movies, and most of all, from my life. Finally squeezed out of me by my nature like a long held breath.
LOVE POEM

Give Me Love - Not Affection
Your kisses betray me
the way they run away
over little frustrations
within every day
Your tenderness
evaporates
without any grace
It’s so cheap
you give and take it
to fuel simple
ambitions
Yet you love me
without any
qualification
So I say
keep your affection
because it’s worse
than aggression
or controlling
possession
when your wrath
chooses the
absentee path
instead of steady mercy
and direct confrontation
the way they run away
over little frustrations
within every day
Your tenderness

Dear War Machine
Founded in the 1910s
in the lands of the free
(Andrew Jackson killed you
for the previous 70 years)
Should we call or write
about that “loan”
you suddenly pull in?
Did you take my signature
as a loan
and fraudulently convert?
Now you come along
to companies like
Rebel News
to bloody harvest
what you already stole?
not value to me
you don’t say?
But value to you?
Expanding credit
as you sell bonds
with signatures to pay
for all these hands ...
in the lands of the free

and let it sink in...
because she
represents
under witness
protection
because she was
more like Peter
than Judas
or Jesus
on election night
in a scheme
too much like
cowards parting
a stolen lamb
from our temple
Lady Liberty’s
Body Politic
running ballots
over and over
in secrecy
the dead of night’s
deception
a sacred
pact of truth
desecrated
but not in vain
as she finds the
true meaning ...
because she
represents

Live and Let Live
If the virus
was so deadly
why do we
have to mandate
suicidal behavior?
If the virus
was so deadly
why is Sweden’s
death rate lower
although their
infection rate
is so much higher?
16% of their dead
had the virus
VS 6%
in the USA
Yet they do not die
more or sooner
A quarter billion
may starve from our
lockdowns worldwide
was so deadly
why do we
have to mandate

When Your Gender Is Black
Everybody is gay
or everybody is
something else
Nobody is straight
because they cannot
have the opposite
There is no race
but the invisible
Spirit of Liberty
Judges rule
with an iron rod
and only truth will do
let the world be one color
and no spilling
of our one red blood
Let the captives go free
and do not assign them
their identity
We posses bodies
diagnosed
with chromosomes
Xx or Xy
My mother
and my brothers
are...

When Jesus Gave the Devils Free Speech
Better than sinners
hiding behind a fig leaf
of socially acceptable
filtered and censored beliefs
are the devils
who get a voice
Worse than unspoken love
...that devil you don’t know
mute and yet active
destroying the show
Silence just covers
the enemy’s blows
Even Jesus
let the tongue free
of devils warring with him
asked them their name
before silencing them to shame
Because he knew
revealing the damage ...

She says “walk light”

Feast Between Firewalls
Walking on water
just for starts
that’s life in a failed
democracy
risking death
by drowning
in darkness
your spirit
moving over
deep obscurity
until a land
of truth appears
in a great hall
where we dine
endlessly
on satisfying words
of closure
surrounded by
blazing walls
mid island
of lake fire
where only
monsters from the deep
are afraid
just for starts

Next Thanksgiving
When many put off
seeing loved ones
so they can see
them next year
or at least
avoid the
turkey police
Here’s the truth:
it doesn’t help
us ensure
we will see
them next year
instead it
reduces
those chances
because it’s
getting more difficult
to wade through
endless months
of lying
about flatter curves
and the isolation
is warping our
hearts and minds
for the long term
go hug someone ...

How to Feed Your Kraken
A steady diet is what the
mighty creature needs
to keep you safe
from your enemies
words of truth
evidence
courage, too
and confidence
It thrives on danger
near hopelessness
although she herself
is never discouraged
she digests what
hurts you most
it sends her into
overdrive against
your enemies
and yes,
When you are
feeling safe
she falls back
fast asleep
If you are
a patriot
she lives...
