Poetry is my voice for change. I have 12 kids with my husband of 22 years. The poetry I write comes from books, movies, and most of all, from my life. Finally squeezed out of me by my nature like a long held breath.

From the Power of Your Hand, Printing Slavery
A slave to your virtue
...prey to your vices
Your hand is a press
pen in your hand
signing your bonds
backed by fear
...and the promise
of all your love
while blindfolded
to your printing press
your commitment
mocked as though
thin air made it
and yet even
our own nation
holds in declaration
Only the people
shall make our money
for only we hold this power
with our pen in our hands
...prey to your vices

You Found the Key to Her Heart
No one could be more
deserving
of all of God’s sons
she has known
Beyond warm smiles
comforting
Though friendly and cordial
she’s locked up
and very rightly so
heart kept safe
waiting for the angel
sent for her
and only her
Not because it’s so easy
or most fun
something is right
and easy
and it’s the way your key
slips into

Black History Month is Awesome!
Cool fact about
our black voters
wise to kleptocracy -
they want to vote
in person
smart accountability
I am thankful for what
the black community
has done to save us from
the spiteful grifters
who would have
destroyed us
by misusing our
diversity
without them to
have our backs

Breaking - The End of Silence
Cheaters never win
Silence isn’t always golden
For example
when the First Amendment
is muzzled
What do I know?
I’m just an American
I only witnessed
a stolen election
How can a felon
a rapist mobster
become president
How can ballots
be counted
after the lawful deadline?
How can we stand by
ruled by conspiracy
...and merely be silent?

Common enemies
for the left and right
want us to die
and make us fight
But even if we can’t
agree on anything
We still both have
a common enemy
Do not forget
carpetbaggers
are not here to save us
Like divorce lawyers
for a marriage
who want us to
use them to fight
until they drain us
of every delight

When I’m Sleeping Tonight
Tucked in cozy to bed
with your stories
still in my sleepy head
Look out the window
at the stars with me
up at what
the wild things see
what are those
night things doing
while I’m tucked in
fast asleep?
The ones who climb
while others jump and run
and still more fly up high
do they care that others
need peace while they sleep
while they flutter howl
scream and screech?
did they even notice
that the blinds are closed
and the lights dim low?
do they stop and...
with your stories
still in my sleepy head

There is intelligence
we question
as inert
although functional
What is alive
can breathe
the inspiration
of benevolence

to precious needs

I possess my gender
with my DNA
Please respect

Dysphoria is a body

A lion in winter
with white lamb wool
stained feet and belly
with the grapes of wrath
A tattered treelike
symbol packed with
gifts for survivors
stolen from grinches
It has plenty of shoulders
to cry on
