In ruins before you lies
Denial comes in flashes
As the world before you dies

All your efforts were in vain
Your guard begins to fall
You're tearing up, feeling the strain
Look down upon it all

Drop to your knees and bow your head
Resign to what its all become
Cities crumbled, your loved ones dead
You've failed, your quest is done

Lament and scream a horrid cry
Yourself you have to blame
Black smoke darkens the sky
Succumb to your own shame

Here you lie in these final moments...

Mind races faster than my words can keep up
Wound up, wound up on edge
Can't think of what will ease the pressure
Wheel spinning but the hamster is missing
Mental engine revving fast in neutral
Defy the rules
Defy convention
Break from the acceptable parameters
I want to be engaged and to challenge
All I have is reality and myself
I can't push your boundaries so I'll push my own
I'm off balance
Thoughts swirling so fast
Humor and intent all blur together
