I wasn't raized with the mental fukery
This pigment to my skin
This melanin, this color classification
This blackness has always been in
Has always been my shit, this complexed complexion, always been my thing
My blackness systematic casts as a child was smart, dignified, proud to be strong
And as a woman of complexity
My elegance, poise, beauty and grace can be matched by nothing, no one none

I don't
I don't want to be a bother or burden to anyone. I don't want to hate myself anymore, I want to know what is wrong with me that it's so difficult to see the best aspects of me, to see what others claim they looking to see. I want to not keep misrepresenting myself because im trying so hard to protect myself from me while striving to be a better version of what I believe I should and could be. I don't want what the Joneses have I just want what's best for my family. Not seeing myself beneath my minds eyed mentalities...

For a very long time zhe equated sex with love, it was what was familiar. Pretty much what zhe was taught, kind of all zhe knew. I know
I am a daughter of Zion
I know who I am
Im no receptacle, no dumping ground, no fauq buddy, no bed
I know my purpose exists
Like my gov't and God given name
I know this half steppin
Half hearted lukewarm
Spewage ain't never been my thing
I know that I can never be dethroned
As long as I stay in the will of God's mercy, loving kindness
And saving grace
I know this walk this journey
Is no winnable race
Takes a lifetime
It ain't instantly microwaved
Aint for the faint of heart or the come too quickly kind of...

This headache I have

If these shoes were on your feet

How many miles
Are behind or in front you

Im grateful for every new day
Im grateful for peace in any and every situation
Weather test or testimony
Im grateful to dwell amongst the living and living dead
For another opportunity
At living this one gifted life
Especially another chance
To put my best foot forward
More time to get it right
Im grateful for the darkness
And the parts of my path that has a bit of light
Im grateful to see the end of the tunnel coming near
Im most humbly grateful
To know that my prayers are still
Heard and answered.
If by chance...
