POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I'm new to writing poetry but have always loved it. :)
Why can't we all be Aphrodite?
Why do I have to be invisible?
Why does it seem like no one notices me?
There once was a time where I felt invincible.
Where did that go? What happened to my dreams?
I feel so small in a world so mighty.
I feel like I'm everyone's second to last choice.
Everyone stops to look at her like she's Aphrodite
Everyone walks right by me as if I have no voice.
I could scream so loud that the sound waves reach the moon
When all she has to do is walk by in silence.
Her beauty floods the world like a typhoon
Just to look at her, the whole world stops...
Why does it seem like no one notices me?

Life Goes On
Lacking the strength to finish the fight, she's
Initially afraid of losing her life.
Fishing for a hand to hold, She
Eventually let's go.
Grounded back home, her son
Obedient and alone, follows his mother's wishes and
Excels to his greatest ability, becoming a better man.
He Succeeds in life and sticks to the plan.
Once a weak mother full of love,
Now a grateful angle watching from above.

Obedient and alone, follows his mother's wishes and
Excels to his greatest ability, becoming a better man.

Now a grateful angle watching from above.

The girl in the mirror (first draft)
The Girl In The Mirror
By Desiree Grant
Dear Desiree,
It's just me again.
Knowing about your love to play pretend,
I ask you, how have you truly been?
Do you still enjoy watching the sun go from up to down?
What about reading and reconstructing your nanny's old magazines that you've found?
I know you must continue working with horses and rescuing animals that got left around wandering from town to town.
How's you constant struggle with the loss of your mom?
I understand how this loss can affect your teenaged life, but I have faith...

James
James
By:Desirée Grant
J is for how much of a jerk you are for stealing my heart.
A is for how you almost had me tricked into falling in love with you from the start.
M is for how misunderstood I must have been for thinking that you actually liked me at all.
E is for every little thing that we have done together and how the mere thought of you makes me feel so small.
And S is for... Well, S is just a letter that ends a name that I wish had never even learned.
And this is just another stupid heartbreak poem that I wrote about you that does nothing but express...
