POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Habitual Love
Accustomed to the noise of your potent presence
You’ve stained my skin with your ocean eyes
Those tidal wave hands sculpted me into a gentile strength
These subtleties entwined in my memories
Memories with the toughest bark
Even those are worn down by fast flowing rivers
Life’s certainty is the uncertain
But each tree is shaped from its habitat
And right now I want my habitat to be you
You’ve stained my skin with your ocean eyes
Those tidal wave hands sculpted me into a gentile strength
These subtleties entwined in my memories
Memories with the toughest bark
Even those are worn down by fast flowing rivers
Life’s certainty is the uncertain
But each tree is shaped from its habitat
And right now I want my habitat to be you

Chili Peppers
I wonder
If the words in those old songs are enough
To make you open the windows
Light a joint
Feel that 5 a.m. breeze
And call in sick to work
…
As the time zone gets louder
Does your heart beat nervously?
I wonder
If the beats in those old songs are enough
To make you push on the pedal harder
To feel those freeway winds tangle your hair
Unwind your mind
As you drive to nowhere at 80 miles per hour
Laughing and crying
…
As the clouds being to sob before the all-out thunderous release
Do they pull on your heart’s...

What You Cannot See
Some may say
I have no morals
Because I was not given The Book
To some I will be forever damned when I’m six feet under
When I was lost and searching for a quick fix
I yelled at god
And thought the line was too busy
When at first I got no answer
However,
I know now I was not meant to have the right number
Because I have never even heard a dial tone
When I was not lost nor searching for anything but life itself
Teachers presented themselves
Barefoot and ragged
But happy as bright as moonlight
They brought with them a then...

Spaced Out
Once upon a rhyme
In a space displaced of time,
The ganja and Grey Goose get along just fine.
Snickering as they play a game of chicken with the mind,
Melancholy mingling with that laid back confidence,
Each has a stale yet heavy footed cogency.
The pounding music matching my heartbeat cadence,
Disrupts the roulette game with the insane.
Outside authoritative rain,
Ignored by the masses gone out of their brain.
While in this sorry state I ponder a gloomy swear,
Twisted thoughts prod5ucing a darkness rare,
Staring down that fate say “Fuck it, I...

I knocked on the door
You open it slow and speak
"Welcome little girl
Come in and have a seat
What is it you wish
What is it you need"
Get in my body
So I can get into my mind
And out of the reality that confines
Pull me down the rabbit hole
Show me a new kind of sanity
Help me forget the vanity
Of the society I'm accustom to inhabiting
Loosen my mind bindings
Tighten the magic carpet threads
Take me flying
Go higher please
I want to see the world
Breathe in the stars
Hop across the cosmos ...

The Unorganized Poetic Mind
I wish the weight of these letters
to be as heavy as a ton of feathers
floating down upon succulent ears
The world is filled with sick people
Don't linger on this idea too long though
Because we all have a different dormant disease
Everyone inhabits uniquely identical boxes
Live barley understanding how another person's life is
Staring indifferently at 3,000 ads a day
Big noises in cities that never rest for a second
How can I think straight, talk straight, when everyone beckons
Even in silence people still have a gravitational pull ...

The I In This Relationship
A change in tone and I'm under the blinding bright lights again
He's dressed in spotless white with a knife ready
Nothing to numb just in the sharp metal plunge
Slice from my chest to my stomach in a capital I
Peel back the thin skin that covered the mess inside
Pound on my chest, break the cage that holds my heart
His strong fingers hook under the bones and lift it out with a tug
Expose the delicate, frantic pulsing beneath
I'm sunken, less and raw
Desperately, discretely I hide the darkness behind large organs
His un-gloved hands carelessly push the...
