POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Not the greatest at writing poetry, but I try.
Spring Is Coming
Soft grey days fading fast, the birds joyfully sing
Telling the end of Winter, the beginning of Spring.
Fresh new grass, and leaves start to grow,
The blustery southwest winds begin to blow.
Thin, high clouds turn puffy and billowy once again.
The earth awakens from her slumber, animals leave their den.
As if they all, with one accord, greet the arrival of Spring once more.
Spring: joyful, soft, sweet Spring. On the wind, its song will soar.

Door Wide Open
Sunlight, streaming through broken window pane
Slanting, bathing a room with a curious light
Dust-covered wood flooring, walls sagging in vain
Attempting to remain despite the many years of decay.
Abandoned.
Alone.
Forgotten.
Feeling watched, walking through this house that time forgot
Somehow it seems familiar to me
Clutter scattered round the floor, papers and pictures
Ruined by dry rot
Something's watching as I walk through each room.
Eerie.
Rusted bedframes, broken chairs, things lay scattered, disrepair. ...

The Poet's Pen
Dreams and memories falling over themselves
as if from some dusty, long forgotten shelves.
Carefully, I brush my fingers over the page.
It's yellowed, fragile, with the lingering musk of age.
Ink, in flowery, flowing, gossamer script
Silently spells out a tale most sweet yet sad,
Blotches upon some pages linger still,
As though the from the author's eyes did spill.
Whilst telling the story in mis-matched rhyme,
A story of two lovers whose hearts are still entwined,
In my mind I picture the writer,
Was he a lover, or a fighter?
Was...

Autumn Whispers
The sun burns brightly in the sky
while Summer continues its sultry stay.
Parched grasses sway and seem to sigh
As night soon overcomes the day.
Condensation drips down crystal glass
Inside which cold liquid swirls.
The taste of soda seems a little crisper
As we hear the faint Autumn Whispers.
Reassuring us with sudden coolness on the wind
Autumn will soon be here again.
Shorts and bikinis give way to sweaters and boots,
I feel my soul stirring deep within its roots.
Soon, Summer will have to give up her reign ...

Over A Year
I haven't written in over a year;
It doesn't feel the same as when
my Angel-Love was here.
It was he who led me to this site,
to read his beautiful prose,
but my presence here doesn't feel right,
there is no poetry I can compose,
That will ever in a million years,
come near to matching what he wrote while here!
The hurt no longer overwhelms my heart and mind,
For over these years as the seasons change,
the memories have become soft and kind.
No longer does guilt shadow my soul,
the loss doesn't feel quite so cold.

Feathery Dreams Butterfly Kisses
It popped up in my memories; a simple calendar day.
I met you 11 years ago, in a most peculiar way.
Our connection was instant, as if we'd met before.
It was so quietly, that you knocked upon my heart's door.
Last week I kept seeing butterflies, flitting just out of my reach. Feathers appeared multiple times, right in front of my feet.
I smiled and thought of you, wishing you were here.
But with each butterfly and feather, you showed me you were near.
Trying to get my attention, you wanted me to know,
you knew the week...

Never Let You Go
I cannot make myself forget
Cannot make myself let go.
I'm not sure I'm ready yet.
You've been gone almost four years,
But here today, I sit in tears.
My heart is always with you,
You helped me rise above so much,
Now all I want is to feel your touch.
The hand of time keeps dragging on,
How am I supposed to move along?
You'd want me not to cry,
But how can I ever say goodbye?
Our dream-home was never to be built,
I feel so wrecked with guilt.
When I try to imagine our dream place,
tears start...
Cannot make myself let go.

Flatlined
I dreamed of you, my love.
Although I know you're safe in Heaven above,
I dreamed I was at your deathbed, your face it looked so gaunt.
Your eyes were pleading, sad. Your facial features taunt.
I watched the heart monitor flat line,
and your heart went still.
As your spirit left your body, my heart was frozen in time.
Crying out, I reached for you,
Screaming, pleading, the nurses calling Code Blue.
It ended with them taking you away,
The sun was rising on a brand new day.
Relief and tears swept over me ...

No Fairy-Tale Ending
I keep waiting, but you never come back to me. How can you come back, when you've gone where I cannot? Our souls met several eternities ago; I knew you without a question that you were mine. You knew me too, so long ago when you were the Knight, and I was your Lady.
Our love story was epic, better than any Fairy Tale dreamt up by The Brothers Grimm, as sparkling and glowing as the moonlight on the waves of a faraway sea. We wove the story together: I was your Vampyre Princess, you my Hybrid Lover. Just a silly fairy tale, made up as we went along, but it was still our story, a love...

1169 Days Ago, 3 Years Gone...
1169 Days Ago, you were last online.
Three full years have come and gone
Since you slipped away.
Heaven gained its brightest star as dawn melted into day.
Not a moment goes by that I don't think of you.
I have learned to smile and not cry, look for happiness again.
After all, that's what you would want me to do,
Laugh and not cry over memories we made together.
I've spent three years mourning you, I love you to this day.
That will never change, my Immortal Love, I will love you forever.
The tears they come less often, I'm smiling more than I...

In All Honesty
In All Honesty,
I stink at poetry.
It's not exactly a strong suite.
My words may not come out exactly right,
prose not always on target.
But I say what's on my mind, and sometimes,
it's quite a lot.
So bear with me, I am on this site,
to have fun and read better poetry than mine.
Also, to mourn my lost soulmate, to write the pain on the page,
Knowing there's healing in words.
My beloved recommended this site to me,
I never knew I'd find a safe place to pour out my grief.
I'd rather put it here, than share with people I know, ...

For A Moment
For a Moment.
I forgot.
For a moment.
I thought you might have messaged me.
For a moment.
Happy New Year, Darling, It would've said.
For a moment
You were alive
For a moment
I forgot you had died
For a moment
Excitement electrified my step.
For a moment.
Joy fled, and my heart wept.
For a while
Your last messages I've saved
For a moment
I read them when I need to be brave
For a moment
I thought you still needed me.
