Unity is Justice
As black people
Where do we stand
Not on our own two feet
But lying dead flat on our backs
From a bullet that someone shot
Because we looked suspicious
We been in this country
For over a thousand years
You would think by now
People would know how we look
Not only whites but other races
Killing our people each year
By saying we look suspicious
Because we wear a hoodie
As black people, we need to take a stand
Come together as one
Assemble in front of every State Capitol building
Where racism and...
Where do we stand

Got to Let Go
The patterns are shown
To those whom
Takes the time to open their eyes
This is not an one or two
But occurences of multiple times
A cry for help
Not a time to hold a person's hand
Do you see
You are enabling them
To think
Yes
I am doing wrong
But with your physical support
They continue to carry on
Down that road of self destruction
Addiction
Eventually the wrong path they will cross
And even yourself
Will have to back down
And finally let
Them take that
Rock bottom...
To those whom
Takes the time to open their eyes
This is not an one or two
But occurences of multiple times

We Rise but Still Fighting
Through the struggles
Of so many years
We have arisen
African American people
No longer receiving
Our purchased food from the back
Today we proudly walk
Head held high through the front
Becoming what we want
Overfilling our needs
No longer women dream
Business entrepreneurs
Million dollar checks they're receiving
Yes
Black people we are booming
But unfortunately
A lot of us
Still fight with poverty
Black on black killings
And police brutality
Loved ones locked up
Fathers...
Of so many years
We have arisen
African American people

Our purchased food from the back

That Young Boy in the Hood
As I look upon
Young boys of today
I remember back when
One of those young boys was me
Throwing balls at curbs
Was fun to us
Neighborhood bullies
We had them too
Occasional street fights
I had my few
Playing dodgeball at my house
Was a regular thing
Riding bikes and shooting hoops
And tackle football
I can still feel the pain
But trips to the variety store
Buying penny candy and knickknacks
Was the highlights of being a kid
And all the fun I had
Growing up as a child
I will never...
Young boys of today
I remember back when

A Desire for Someone
As I sit and stare at this wall
A feel of chill overcomes my soul
Because I
A desire for someone
To be by my side
To walk down this path
Of an unscheduled marriage
For life is too short
To travel alone
The debts are too high
To make a solo climb
And the nights get lonely
Without a person to love
No novel or poem
Can fill this hole
Of being alone
In a cold world
That's chewing away my patience
Tearing my heart into pieces
To know that everyday
I will walk it
Alone

The Bank of Love
The love in my heart
Is like money accumulating in a bank
Haven't found the right one
To invest my love in
Some has tried
To falsely advertise
Trying to enlighten a rise
For a bargain
That is really a devil in disguise
And others
Spending more love than I had
An overdraft
Leaving me empty and heartbroken
Taking many years of hardwork
To deposit and save the love
I had to replace
And a couple of women
I was being cheap
The love they deserved
I wasn't trying to spend
So they found...

An Invisible Energizer of Hope
Negative thoughts is a disease
Like cancer
It kills all healthy cells
One little negative thought
Destroys positive motivation
It's hard
Seeing sunshine through dark shades
When your skies are covered in gray
When everyone else's life around
Is messed up in such a disray
Trying to build on stronger intentions
When the ground underneath
Is a thin layer of slate
Weak minds brings unstable actions
Only fools
Try to numb
In tiny segments of time
We the masterminds
Keeping a straight face through...
Like cancer

Who's Controlling This Fight
A wise man
I never claimed
And my happy days
Seems to turn to clouds
An overcast
Settles over my pride
Mood swings
Others say
I suffer from day to day
But it's a war I fight
Inside of me
Between my mind
And physical activity
My mind I trust
But what I do
I swear it's not myself
Alone I sit amongst others
But mentally
Be thousands miles away
Even that
Doesn't disable how I move
I commit physical sin
Then later when the dust settles
Remorse can be heard in my voice...
I never claimed
And my happy days

When in need
Easily to perceive
For a man to believe
He has changed old ways
To build up relationships
That's been long gone away
Telling self constantly
He's freed from negativity
Till that day of reality
When past vices
Runs rampant like conversations
He quickly partakes
Shedding his falsified boundaries
Speaking fluently
With a blast from the past
Not even recognizing
Voluntarily stepping back into
An old addictive mental trance
That led to jail and years lost
Even that and high...

A Painful Episode
Dark and alone
Lost and unsure
Trapped between hell and reality
A past that was promising
A future that is uncertain
And a present day
A mental struggle
Sometimes want to cry
But no tears form
No emotions left in my soul
No love one to claim
No friends to depend
On a dull journey
With no passengers
Time is unknown
When this drought will be over
No presents or rewards
Will be given
But a new sense of respect
And gratitude for life

You want me to beg
But I will not stoop that low
For I am a grown man
Far from those games
You like to play
I have one simple question
That deserves a simple answer
Do you love me
Put the bullshit to the side
I'll end this relationship
With no love loss for I
Cause there's plenty of women
Waiting for me to see
And there's tender men
Waiting for you in their lives
Play your childish games

Beg, fuss, and cry
