POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
An amateur. Learning. Understanding. Craving. Blending. I'm trying to find myself in writing. Any healthy advice would be appreciated. xxx
like a prey, they wait...
They're hungry.
Hungry in their dark eyes,
Hungry in their whistles,
Hungry in their agonizing movements,
And they're waiting...
Waiting to take the girl out of her,
leaving her stripped bare...
Hungry in their dark eyes,
Hungry in their whistles,
Hungry in their agonizing movements,
And they're waiting...
Waiting to take the girl out of her,

Infatuation
I think this is it
I think I've fallen hard
Unbroken - genuinely
His words spike the shadowed parts of my heart
Slowly thrusting the corners of my ears that have become so tightly locked
His words drift through mid air, in a space of thousands, but a space of just us
I love to catch the rhythm to his voice
The rhythm to his poetic words
The rhythm to his poetic mind
I'm infatuated - help.
I think about him, involuntarily
Dream of him, frequently
Is this love... No... I can't handle love.
Let's call this infatuation with a...

the windows have eyes
the windows are suspiciously
wondering, eavesdropping,
at the occasion to take place;
maybe this one will pay better,
they say...

late nights
the nights quite old
and the bastard comes singing
songs of younger days
"where have you been ?" she questions
"out..." he responds
with the clock ticking away
so is the love between them

November...(For you, Theo. It's not much but I hope u like it nonetheless.)
November comes,
So do the tears follow
November comes,
The pain never gets old
November comes,
The images remain vivid...
November's here,
Lord give me strength
So do the tears follow
November comes,
The pain never gets old
November comes,
The images remain vivid...
November's here,
Lord give me strength

Growing old by the lake
when we sat out at the lake,
you asked whether
I felt
different
I sat there thinking what it
was that you
meant by
that
Did I feel different with you ?
Or did I feel different sitting
silently by this clear
lake with
you ?
In my silence, you held
my hand and I was
scared you read
into my
confusion
But when I looked at you
something in me changed
at that
moment
I saw through the window of
your eyes where two
white-haired
people sat,

not so much the trusted neighbour
"this is absolutely unacceptable", she says
no, it's completely unacceptable that
you saw it happen,
every damned day,
but did or said nothing to stop it...

...In Between...
The Stepfather
You lied
You swore
You bashed me
You broke me
You belittled me
You hurt me
The Daughter
I believed
I swore back
I bled
I shattered
I belittled myself
I hurt myself
The Lover
You spoke truth
You never whispered one bad word
You touched me gently
You built me
You say I outsmart you
You say you'd never hurt me
But my love, so much anger exists in me,
I'm afraid I could hurt you.

the unfatherly monster wins, again
Sick
Sick is what I feel when I re-emerge
From a waking dream that has managed
To puncture the happiness in me
Tired is how I feel knowing I spend
another day- another dragging day -
in this hell hole
Colossal and drowning is this hell hole
Screeching a thousand death screams,
misery from past sins
and clean fear in the face of the devil
Defeated I stand, masking a brave
face which only makes me seem all
the more cowardly
I look in the face of this monster
that has diverted my path of
life to a path of death,

despite it all
I don't dare ask why she stays,
despite their violent exchanges
'Cause I know she'll unintentionally
bite my head off
Every day I'll silently say
she only deserves better
despite their violent exchanges
'Cause I know she'll unintentionally
bite my head off
Every day I'll silently say
she only deserves better

they walk amongst us
He's eight
I'm eighteen
We have an understanding which is common between siblings
When I angrily shout at him - genetically, I apologise minutes later
When he notices a change in my mood - genetically, he asks with a concerned face, "what's wrong ?"
In moments like those, I thank God for an angel named Brandon - my brother.

the promiscuous aura
"A promiscuous one, that girl", said
the middle-aged woman
"How so ?", he asked
She wreaks of a
thousand pains
behind her eyes, he'd thought.
He looked a while longer
Drank her facials
like they were a
quench to some thirst
he had
Long, wavy dark hair
left tingles in his fingertips
Lips so perfectly carved,
he could feel them all
over his body
A hand crept around her waist,
A hand not welcomed,
but she allowed it in,
with a smile that screamed
so many no's,
Yet she...
