POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I'm a romantic, who writes mostly in ballad form.
The Routine
Sometimes I wake up,
And it feels like a depressing day.
So, I set my mood organ to despair.
I'd rather not have to deal
With any mood swings.
Why feel hope if it will go nowhere?
I take a shower in despair.
I get dressed in despair.
I eat breakfast in despair.
I lock my door in despair.
I live my day in despair.
When I get home
I tune my mood organ to self reflection
As I wind down.
Lastly as I ready for sleep
I set my mood organ to anxious insomnia,
Until around twelve.
At that point...

Deathly Hunger
Breath
Life
I saw her
Like a dream
My angel in the stream
I'm so hungry
For her, for flesh
But, I'm a dead man walkin’
She's why my heart's beatin’
I'm a dead man walkin’
And she why I'm livin’
I heard her
Like a song
Calling me where I'd gone
I'm so famished
For her, for life
But, I'm a dead man walkin’
She's why my heart's beatin’
I'm a dead man walkin’
And she's why I'm livin’
I feel her
Like skin
She's about to win
I'm out of...
Life
I saw her
Like a dream
My angel in the stream
I'm so hungry
For her, for flesh
But, I'm a dead man walkin’
She's why my heart's beatin’
I'm a dead man walkin’
And she why I'm livin’
I heard her
Like a song
Calling me where I'd gone
I'm so famished
For her, for life
But, I'm a dead man walkin’
She's why my heart's beatin’
I'm a dead man walkin’
And she's why I'm livin’

Never settle down
Oh my goodness!
How could this be?
You mean so much to me,
But I'd never let you be free.
You're always moving up.
You'd never settle down.
It wasn't meant to be.
I thought I could break on through,
But I wasn't strong enough for you.
I never felt like such a fool.
You never really wanted
Anything anyway,
Or at least not anymore.
You're always moving up.
You'd never settle down.
It's just who you are.
Everyday I look for your face
To see your eyes through my shades.
It's too late...
How could this be?
You mean so much to me,
But I'd never let you be free.
You're always moving up.
You'd never settle down.
It wasn't meant to be.
I thought I could break on through,
But I wasn't strong enough for you.
I never felt like such a fool.

Poison
My body betrays my mind
As it reaches for the poison
In a vain attempt to end the pain.
The flesh of my body unkind
To the shouting voices
Blaring in my brain.
The wretched muscles
Strive to be free
From their shackles.
Poison is the answer to this puzzle.
To relieve the poison that is me.
A fluid attack that kills.
Mind over matter, and in this matter,
To me nothing now matters.
As it reaches for the poison
In a vain attempt to end the pain.
The flesh of my body unkind
To the shouting voices
Blaring in my brain.
The wretched muscles
Strive to be free
From their shackles.
Poison is the answer to this puzzle.
To relieve the poison that is me.
A fluid attack that kills.
Mind over matter, and in this matter,
To me nothing now matters.

Phoenix
Body sundered by faithless flames.
Smoke and the scent of burnt flesh.
Worldly soul screaming from ash
Choking on the unreal past.
Oh, I knew fear
In a handful of dust.
Natural now artificial
From flesh and Bone
To plastic and metal.
Organized nucleotides
Replaced with coded ones and Os.
Those are pearls that were my eyes.
What am I now?
A surgeon’s artistry?
Or scalpel’s monstrosity?
What is left of my humanity?
A metal morality?
Or unreal memory?
No longer living or dead
I stand...
Smoke and the scent of burnt flesh.
Worldly soul screaming from ash
Choking on the unreal past.
Oh, I knew fear
In a handful of dust.
Natural now artificial

Quest for Rock 'n' Roll
I listen to songs of old
Ballads of love untold,
And I wonder happened
To Rock 'n’ Roll.
The power of love
And the heartbreak.
Feelings lost to time.
This pop lacks the answers
To the questions on my mind.
The smile has left your eyes,
And I'm alone.
Where have we gone?
This pop is missing the soul
Of my own song.
The winds of change are blowing,
And I can't fight this feeling.
I will begin my quest.
This pop will fade
In the light of Rock's success.
Ballads of love untold,
And I wonder happened
To Rock 'n’ Roll.
The power of love
And the heartbreak.
Feelings lost to time.
This pop lacks the answers
To the questions on my mind.
The smile has left your eyes,

Of my own song.
The winds of change are blowing,
And I can't fight this feeling.
I will begin my quest.
This pop will fade
In the light of Rock's success.

The Song of Mountain Shal'vamor
Pass the ancient forest,
And where the giants rest
There is a mountain
That none can claim.
The sides are shear
With falls that any would fear.
On stone, cold and frigid
Ice grows sharp and rigid.
In the bowels of this beast
Lives fire from the deeps.
Lurking creatures of evil
Are hungering and primeval.
Heroes come from far and wide
To bring the mountain’s hide.
Eaten whole the heroes die
Exhaled with the mountain's sigh.
If you ever meet your fate
At the hands of valor's bait.
Know that you've been...
And where the giants rest
There is a mountain
That none can claim.
The sides are shear
With falls that any would fear.
On stone, cold and frigid
Ice grows sharp and rigid.
In the bowels of this beast
Lives fire from the deeps.
Lurking creatures of evil
Are hungering and primeval.

Eaten whole the heroes die
Exhaled with the mountain's sigh.
If you ever meet your fate
At the hands of valor's bait.
Know that you've been...

In the Glade
There stands a rotten tree
Lost to both you and me.
Limbs are both dry and black,
The bark is loose and cracked.
There stands a rotten tree
Long dead as I can see.
Trunk now hollow of life
Growing with mold in rife.
There stands a rotten tree
No longer here to be.
With forgotten ancestors
Lost to the oppressor.
There stands a rotten tree
a long lost ancient plea.
Rings leave lost memories.
Life lived exemplary.
Lost to both you and me.
Limbs are both dry and black,
The bark is loose and cracked.
There stands a rotten tree
Long dead as I can see.
Trunk now hollow of life
Growing with mold in rife.
There stands a rotten tree
No longer here to be.
With forgotten ancestors
Lost to the oppressor.
There stands a rotten tree
a long lost ancient plea.
Rings leave lost memories.
Life lived exemplary.

Leaving in the Boat
We can leave for the north,
And we'll be sure to pack some coats.
We can leave on the fourth.
Oh no, there's a leak in the boat.
We'll leave this sand behind,
And we'll head for new land with hope.
We'll leave on the warm wind.
Oh no, there's a leak in the boat.
We can hope for the best,
But the dote stops us here and gloats.
We can lay here and rest.
Oh no, there's a leak in the boat.
We’ll leave it all and try,
But if we sink we'll try and float.
We'll leave and give goodbyes.
Oh no, there's a leak in the boat.
...

Jack Pine
Born in ash my bark is burnt black.
To grow and protect is my path.
I am shelter for those who need,
And yet I was born in God's wrath.
Angered, He smote land with lightning
Righteous fire led a warpath.
And, I was made stronger by it,
And yet I was born in God's wrath.
Me and mine are things of beauty.
Creatures of light, in sun we bathe.
An existence of cleansing sin,
And yet I was born in God's wrath.
Our lives arbitrary and cruel
All owned by a sociopath.
A creator born of desire,
And yet we were lost in God's...
To grow and protect is my path.
I am shelter for those who need,
And yet I was born in God's wrath.
Angered, He smote land with lightning
