POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I hope you're not in search of a happy poem. If you read my works you are reading into my heart. Cold and broken. Enjoy and stomach it if you can.
Rope Swing
Slamming down my last bottle
I make a rather hasty decision
I’m tired of this life, no excitement
Find a good length of rope from the shed
A strong beam that will support me
My mother’s chair is a fine touch indeed!
No one will miss me, not the least bit
I’ll be lucky if they even find this note
I fling into the air like a bird breaking free
Until darkness is all that I can see
My heart pounding one final beat
Letting me know I did the deed
Now I am hanging from the attic
With the world below my knees
Why didn’t anybody...

Bad Dream
She walks down a simple garden bearing flowers
Red rose petals drop behind her bare feet with every step
Golden brown hair, catches a drift from the breeze
She is wearing a purple gown, the color of royalty
I wait patiently for my beautiful queen to join me
Her white smile peeks from the her soft tender lips
As she calmly whispers my name like an enchanted spell
The suns golden rays are beating down on her pale complexion
As I turn my head a black cloud has come into plain sight
The earth beneath us begins to rumble as it breaks us apart

Rerun
A perfect setting
Driving with a sunset landscape
Your song blaring on the radio
The smell of your perfume in the air
Laughing to myself at such coincidence
Now for the comedown
I look to my right and you’re not there
You gave that seat up long ago
Tears stream down my face
Pull over to the side behind a store
Letting all my emotions fall out
Pull out my blade and start again
Carving your name like a tattoo
In the arm that once held you
Bleeding me out once again
Taking all I’ve strived to keep
Keeping me from...

Eternal Sleep
My body is tired, in need of rest
All these late nights are taking its toll
And as my head finally hits the pillow
I call for the reaper to claim my soul
Leave me in this free world to dream
Because right now it beats my reality
No alarm clock to scream at me to wake
No more pain of seeing the next day
And as I lay in my eternal sleep
I hope that you will still remember me
Please don’t cry for me, don’t say a thing
For you know in fate, this was meant to be
All these late nights are taking its toll
And as my head finally hits the pillow
I call for the reaper to claim my soul
Leave me in this free world to dream

Dedication (sexyredhead)
Alone in the darkness, walking into hell
Bottle in hand, hood masking my face
It’s been another long evening in waiting
To write poems that no one will ever read
I’ve been so alone facing these dark trials
So close to suicide, I see the light fading away
When an angel grabbed me firmly by the hand
Red hair flowing, crimson smile enveloping me
With loving words spewing from her mouth
Lightening my mood with every word she speaks
Her wings, shielding me from my cruel reality
She knows where I’ve been. The dark temptations
She doesn’t care though,...

Bully
Push me down again, feel like a man now?
I haven’t done a thing yet you lash out with violence
Like a lion pursuing a gazelle for his lunch
Chasing me down hallways and alleyways
Beating my face to a pulp, admiring it like art
Leaving me with emotional scars that will never fade
Raping my ears with pointless name calling
Each verbal blow dealt like a dull knife to my heart
Others just watch and allow you to continue
I scream for help and they tell me it’ll be okay
Holding campaigns, feed me lies that they care
But no one wants to stand up against a...

Living a Lie
I’m so sick of all the lies I’ve been telling
Hidden so well deep beneath my complexion
Living two separate lives in one body
Macho mechanic by day, hopeless poet by night
Wearing separate uniforms to signify each occupation
One a blue collar and one a black hood
My identity kept a secret behind these dark shades
If they found out, I see inevitable mutiny
Living night after night caged like a bird
Buried in this hole of eternal guilt
This jury won’t let me be free to go
I will be judged and convicted. Creep.
But I just don’t fucking care...

Snowflakes On My Tongue
One by one, little white dots fall on my tongue
Like snowflakes on a cold December afternoon
I give me something to numb my pain
Because happiness is a drug on backorder
Swallowing them like a kid with candy drops
Wash them down with a couple swigs of Jack
Ah yes! That oh so familiar surging in my veins
I feel indestructible; I can take your blows now
You thought you’d break my heart? I just erased it
Filling the cavity with feelings of temporary euphoria
Carrying them in my pocket around like a Pez Dispenser

Intro
I see the sun creep away
I hear the door close slowly
I taste the whiskey still on my breath
I smell cigarettes on my jacket
I feel the cold on my skin
Shelter from the storm
I see the bills gathered on the table
I hear the phone ringing off the hook
I taste my half frozen microwave dinner
I smell defeat from the past few weeks
I feel the fridge for an ice cold beer
Reflection
I see myself in the mirror. Disgrace
I hear my voice in my head. Annoying
I taste the blood from an open vein. Pain

Fire And Ice
I remember when we once said,
Our love could set the world ablaze
I never thought you would set fire to mine
Watching my inner walls fall upon me
Leaving me to crawl from a pile of ashes
Choking on the embers of my charred soul
Your last kiss was a simple spark
That ignited when you tore out my heart
My flame, the only source of my warmth
Has decided, she’s walking out the door
Leaving my world cold, engulfed in ice
Alone, sitting on my throne of frozen tears
Feeling lost, blind in this painful blizzard
Hope one day, someone will thaw me...
