Evening Concert
Today in the city forum
The Friend has advertised
Free tickets
For the evening concert
He is directing.
The tickets were made available
At the entrance
To the concert hall -
Which is reached
Through meditation.
Less than a handful of children
Entered to pick up tickets -
As the rest of the city
Did not realize
How valuable they were.
Dearest Wayfarer,
Did you pick up your ticket
For this evenings concert?

A Poem to be Worthy
A poem to be worthy
Of those that read the verse
Needs to stir emotions
With love the soul immerse.
It should merge one in the Lord -
Then dream to see His face
Within the consciousness of the soul
That's become pure and chaste.
It should make the eyes go misty
With many tears accrue -
Give the heart a pain of longing
For the Lords most mystic view.
It should give a wider meaning,
Change hearts from war to peace
With a desire of forgiveness
To everyone that love can reach.

What are We Fighting For Anyway?
The earth is in a state of crisis -
We must give up
Our aggressive egoic
Warring behavior.
Not only between countries
But between ourselves
And the planet
Or face extinction.
We are all interconnected
And must change
From within first (Involution).
What are we fighting for anyway?
We are only an infinitesimal
Speck of dust
In a universe so vast
The human mind cannot begin
To comprehend it.
And -
A time line billions and billions
Of years long.
We are on this stage for not even

I'm Just Passing Through
Let me not waste
Precious moments
Lord
On useless baubles
I will rue -
It's You
I should be seeking -
As I'm just passing through.
Let me dwell
Not in the future
Or in the past pursue -
Just live
The present moment -
As I'm just passing through.
Let me treat
All others kindly
Leaving gossip
For the few,
See You in all creation -
As I'm just passing through.
Let me live
Each day in wonder
Be awed by what you do -
See the depth
Of your production -
As I'm just passing through....

Deaths Journey
Our questions are unanswered
About the greatest enigma of life,
The mystery of death and its journey
Leaving us in fear and strife.
When do we leave?
Where do we go?
How do we travel there?
Is it close?
Is it far?
Of this we're unaware.
The most exciting journey
We neither prepare nor plan -
We have no clue of where we go,
Or where our ship will land.
When we make earthly travel plans
Our journey's well thought out -
We have our maps of distant lands,
A guide to show the route.
We've bought our tickets...

Two Angles
One night I awoke from slumber
My attention out of control -
There on my bedroom carpet
Two angles fought for my soul.
(One angle shinning from heaven,
The other a specter from hell.)
I felt the pain of their struggle
Like a north wind chill with cold,
Secrets buried in my bosom
Not wanting to be told.
I watched the contest deepen
From one to the other tossed -
Wanting both to be the victor
With a fear for the one that lost.
In a tie the skirmish ended
My attention gained control -
Aware they would return...

A Morning Glory
Walking a path at False Cape
I saw a morning glory.
With full attention
Admired its delicate beauty -
For it had just been born this morning.
The flower was radiant
And alive with God's glory.
It accepted the moment
Just as it is,
And knew not the past or the future.
The flower did not care
If anyone saw it or not,
For it lived only for God.
This is how we all should live,
Accepting each moment
As it is
And surrendering
Our all to God.
I saw a morning glory.
With full attention
Admired its delicate beauty -
For it had just been born this morning.

My Cat
My cat is always shedding fur
Like leaves that drop in fall,
And like the leaves
I'm raking up the fur into a ball.
From my cat three balls of fur
Were raked up for this game,
Enough fur for three more cats
If I but had the frame.
Like leaves that drop in fall,
And like the leaves
I'm raking up the fur into a ball.
From my cat three balls of fur
Were raked up for this game,
Enough fur for three more cats
If I but had the frame.

Castles in the Sky
Each of us fashions a kingdom
Of that we cannot deny -
Formed of the bricks and stones of dreams.
Our castles in the sky.
Mine is an isle far away
In the middle of a gin clear sea,
Where quiet waves lap a sugar sand beach
Far as the eye can see.
Many a castle of dreams we've built
As our thread of life weaves and bends -
In due time to occupy this space
When the breath of earth life ends.
God has fashioned many a kingdom
Consistent with our schemes -
Exactly fitted to each one's longing
As they awaken from this dream.
Of that we cannot deny -
Formed of the bricks and stones of dreams.
Our castles in the sky.
Mine is an isle far away
In the middle of a gin clear sea,
Where quiet waves lap a sugar sand beach

Karmic Wheel
Our spiritual self's been forgotten
Covered over with worldly life.
Led on by the mind ans senses
Into much discord and strife.
Surrounded by our karma's (actions and reactions)
On a wild storm tossed sea -
The karmic debt must be paid in full
Before we can be free.
Most are unaware the danger -
Or they simply have no fright
Of the debt they are creating
As each day turns to night.
This debt is added to each lifetime
When the course is left undone -
Placed in our karmic warehouse
For yet another rum.
We are...
Covered over with worldly life.
Led on by the mind ans senses
Into much discord and strife.
Surrounded by our karma's (actions and reactions)
On a wild storm tossed sea -
The karmic debt must be paid in full

A Buttercup
I saw a buttercup look up
All bright and glad of face -
To welcome a shaft of light
Beamed to it from space.
Although the day was misty grey
And clouds had lowered down,
This shaft of light flashed
Through the mist to glorify its crown.
A humble little buttercup
Hardly worth a care,
Yet; a golden beam of light shone down
A brilliant robe to wear.
And lend to it a halo bright
Of sweetest golden rays,
A moments reflection of God
From out our busy day.
All bright and glad of face -
To welcome a shaft of light
Beamed to it from space.
Although the day was misty grey
And clouds had lowered down,
This shaft of light flashed
Through the mist to glorify its crown.

Hardly worth a care,

And lend to it a halo bright
Of sweetest golden rays,
A moments reflection of God
