This Is A Formica Table. Green Is Its Colour
I can’t sleep
But who needs sleep anyways
All it does it pave the way
To nightmares
Paralysis
I’m sick of it
I’m sick of living in this restless existence
Trying to remain persistence
Trying to remain optimistic
But it’s hard
When every life lesson
Leads me on a path to more pessimism
I’m a living example of an optimist
Who became a pessimist
Thanks to life experience
But now I’m trying to live my life
Like my favourite TV show
When it don’t make that much sense
I'm like...

So he was sitting there
Completely void of focus
He was searching for a purpose
He was trying to find a balance
He was watching the walls
Fall around him
And he'd let them
All the emptiness within him
Was consuming him
Ever since she left him
And he's still not sure
What went wrong
One moment she was there

She had left
After he saved her
From the grips
Of an Ape called Donkey
Now he's chilling
Heartbroken
In Brooklyn

The mice want me to give you a message
And so I find myself once again
Overwhelmed by thoughts of you
I try to arrest their development
But you're so good
I don't how
I'm supposed to do that?
I wanna be Slow Mobius
When it's the two of us
I wanna slow down time
And keep this moment alive
Between you and I
And fixate on that smile
That lights up my life
But I'm not
So as I walk home
The rain hits my shoe box
Full of photos of you
And a Wookiee impression or two
And I make myself feel real sick ...

I try to arrest their development
But you're so good
I don't how

This is the story of a
Part time recluse
Who was used
To feeling like
He had no use
And he would use that as an excuse
To smoke weed
Anytime that he felt
Like he did need
A little bit of encouragement
Something
Anything
To help him
Get through the next day
He would get up
And play games
He started to think
His life was a little bit of a waste
But at the end of the day
It was probably ok
The product of a fatherless generation
Built up on Thundercats cartoons
And...

All in the reflexes
And as the words slipped out
I realised right then
That I didn't even want to talk
The worst thing ever I did was to lend a voice
To my angry train of thought
But some things can't be unsaid
A million variations of that sentence
Going around in my head
And as you stood there
In your angry silence
I knew that was the moment
That I'd lost you forever
But whatever we said
And all the promises we made
We were never gonna be forever
No matter how much I wanted it to be that way ...

Is it future, or is it past?
I was sinking with you
On top of my shoulders
So I let you go
And allowed myself
To finally swim free
I was sinking with you
I thought I was strong enough
To host us both
I'd boast the role of shelter
To your inevitable pain
That endless rain
When all your hope
Came crashing down
I'd play the clown
And try and turn that frown
