War for Peace
You have selflessly taken seat in command
Seeing light in a wreck you sought to salvage
Keeping a tight house, calm wit, and firm hand
You speak of a state where anger does not ravage
We take reverence in how you want us to move
Responding in tune to a ruthless, guiding touch
You teach our past should not push us to prove
Cause for you
No act was ever devastating enough
It is a short cry I release, meeting the end of your strength and will
You survived what most could not and did not succumb to the kill

When I think of the rain
I will remember him like this
I will remember a brave young man
Driven by nature and her bliss
But it is terrible to think
So I would rather just swim
To prolong a deep blink
Lost in the abyss of what was him
No, life is never fair
And the other side is simply worse
There is nothing happy today to share

Where the flowers would fall
The bustle was full
The Fall never came
But everywhere it grew
We never learned the name
I would pick a few
Fresh in the mornings dew
Between two fingers
A small bushel of flowers for you
I look upon them today
In my comfy, warm home
That you built in me with blood
