Hi, I have been writing off and on since as long as I can remember. I occasionally take a hiatus, but always come back inspired with new poetry each time. I would love to be a published writer someday, but as long as my poetry inspires, I'm happy.
LOVE POEM

Resurfaced
All it takes is
Talking to you again
And then everything rises
Back up to the surface
And everything that
I thought I had buried
Comes flooding right back
As though nothing ever changed
As though not a day has passed
Everything is still just as strong
As it was back then
And as much as I've tried
To move on
And to let you move on
I just can't do it
And so it starts all over again
And everything is as it was
At least at first
But then reality sets in
And though our feelings remain
The years have not be kind
And...

Playlist
Every time we talk,
A playlist starts
In my head,
Full of songs
Both happy and sad,
Of love and sex,
Of hope and longing,
Of comfort and desire,
Of things that I want
And things that I need.
And as they play
In my head,
I can't help
But fall deeper
In love with you.

Please Forgive Me
I'm so used to running away,
Of always getting hurt,
Because when things seem
Too good to be true
For me they always are.
And so I see it
Start to happen,
And I push you away,
Thinking I will be
Sparing myself heartache.
But in my fear of being hurt
I hurt you instead.
Doing that one thing
I swore to myself and you
I'd never do.
I try to push away,
Because I think I should,
That it's what's best,
That you just need some time
To work it all out first.
But then you beg me to stay,
And I know just how wrong I am....
Of always getting hurt,
Because when things seem
Too good to be true
For me they always are.
And so I see it
Start to happen,
And I push you away,

A Friend in Need
Stop pushing me away!
I only want
To be your friend.
I see myself in you,
I see yourself in me.
I want to be there for you
Because I have needed
Someone there for me.
I consider you a friend
And I care about you
Because only those like us
Can ever truly understand us.

And it scares you.

The Struggle
Everyday
Is a struggle
Between
The dark side
Of myself
And the hope
That is in
My heart
Some days
The darkness
Wins out
Other days
It is
The hope
The longer
This goes on
The more
I fear
I am slowly
Winding down
Getting closer
And closer
To my
Breaking point
To that moment
When my sanity
Finally snaps
And I plunge
Over the edge
Sinking
Drowning
Immersed
In the
Darkness within
Never again
To see
The light
Save me
From myself

The dark side

Misplaced Trust
We only talk when
It is convenient for you.
I'm all but ignored
Whenever you're doing
Something else,
Someone else,
Something more important,
Someone more important.
You come to me
When you're feeling down,
Because you know
That I still love you,
That I still need you,
That I still want you,
That I still lust for you.
I'm your anti-depressant,
To be used as needed
And then put back 'til later.
I will be here for you,
I will make you feel better,
I will make you feel happy,
I will make you feel loved....

The God In The Room
How can I ever hope to compete
With what you invest some much into?
It helps you unwind from your day,
Gives you comfort when you need it,
Reminds you of the world at large,
Helps you connect to others
And to any emotion you choose,
Makes a bad day good
And a good day better,
Helps you feel like
You're not wasting your life.
But you are
Because you just sit there
Hours and days on end,
Giving all the love and affection
That I want from you
To that thing in the corner.
Its loving glow is all you need
And...

Do I ask for more of you

I don't know how to make this stop,
Or if I would want to if I could.

Destiny
You say you don't believe in fate,
But I hope I can change your mind,
Because how else do you explain this?
How we understand each other
So very well, almost instinctually
Like we're on the same wavelength?
How we compliment each other so well
As though we were two matching pieces
From the same exact puzzle?
How you send the same shivers
Up and down my spine
That I do to you everytime?
How you have managed to turn
My stomach into a lepidoterosphere
With just a few gestures and words?
