a rebel in my mind
a rock n' roll king
didn't have the skills
falling short of that dream
lyrics were my way of life
countless hours
invested in the local scene
never spent a second on stage
record my passion if you will
this ghost demo never heard
spinning wheels
the concert in my head
wanting to front the band
i never could
change a thing
i never would
out of the ashes
rises a family man
a husband
and a father
my wife, my love
i have no regrets
without your heart
i am nothing...

driven to insanity
infection turns the screw
beyond nightmares
colors bleed true
army of one
avenging the scorned
unbalanced lies
from lustful minds
deceit is filth
tar covered wings
unable to fly
spontaneous combustion
guilt is weight
breaking bones
falling in
spontaneous combustion
rage of society
laws shackle the meek
painful existence
smothers the weak
lonely inside
splintered the souls
without vision
dying all alone

Wild Flower
conflict of interest
read between the lines
dance around the truth
wiser from the pain
your eyes taunt
painting my existence
transparent i seem
till you reel me in
consumed by night
breaking dawn
opening doors
of discontent
dreams so relevant
visiting me in my sleep
the kisses you bestow
awaken my love
hold me closer
stimulating my senses
on the verge
till you whisper not yet
skin on skin
lighting my passion
silk sheets
dripping wet
restrain my limbs
velvet are the ropes...
read between the lines
dance around the truth

The Windy City Blues
out on the town
cold somber streets
cracks in the pavement
spirits in the wind
buildings like portraits
telling forgotten stories
the skyline is foggy
like memories lost
blues guitar in the alley
bleeding through bricks
of the watering hole
and it’s fractured neon
a place to hunt
or die and disappear
tales of sorrow
and broken hearts
restless men and ghosts
swirling in grey despair
women needing love
perfume scented doorways
this city whispers truth
but you have to listen ...

Full Circle Again
against the grain
rough to the touch
an image unfinished
my flaws are beautiful
without courage
it will unravel
fear is not in control
humanity is my charm
distant eyes stare
reading me from afar
knowledge is power
that bathes in light
rise above social labels
there is more to reveal
open your conscience
and dry your tears
when all is said
emotions are spent
and when it’s done
we come full circle again
outside the loop
never as it appears
flowers amongst weeds
protected by thorns...

MISCELLANEOUS POEM

Love This Game
spring training leading up to opening day
all the young hopefuls and the veterans
a common goal of making the team
and helping the club progress
the all stars re-sharpening their skills
the up and comers trying to find a place
batting practice and running drills
trying to find common ground
the catcher is the field general
supporting the veteran pitchers bringing out their best
and helping the young up starts find their strength
being a leader no matter what the consequences
fastball, pop fly, the double play
hanging slider giving up a solo...

Don't Be Afraid To Ask?
eight years ago i met you
love and touching heart strings
we were so tight, and close
you still get my pulse rushing
i know i can’t fix everything
but a new beginning is what we have
honey you still touch me
just with your good will
two beautiful boys
you’ve given me so much
you accept my flaws
the keys to my heart are yours
so hold my soul close
protect me in your arms
keep me from self-destruction
i’m not an easy decision
my underbelly exposed
i don’t let just anyone in
tread carefully my love
i’m not sure...
