POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
A dark poet who loves to read even darker poems
Premonitions
I wasn’t even two blocks away, when the black clouds that had been following me all day suddenly roared. Even though it was only three in the afternoon, the entire sky became as dark as night. When the first shot of lightning came from the clouds, I knew it was time to run.
I began running as fast as my feet would carry me but when the merciless rain began pouring, I knew that it was a lost cause. I was drenched head to toe, not even two minutes after the rain had begun. I cursed my luck. Only this would happen to me on a day when I was already so confused.
I tried running...

Unheard
Being unheard kills you slowly
You scream, you yell to anyone close-by
But your words get silenced before they even make a sound
Everything is muffled, even your sigh
I'm always here for you, he said
I will never run away, he promised
But his promise was as false as his love
He was always dishonest
I loved the fact that he listened
I adored his smile
Now, I have no one who is wiling to listen
Everyone else is just like him; vile
I sit in a corner, drowning in my own tears
Listen to the beating of my heart
You were always...

A Cut
A cut appears on your arm,
The blood drips and drips until another cut joins,
A cut for lost love,
A cut or two for disappointed parents,
A cut for being a shell of your former self,
Your blade is your only friend,
The pain is your only sense of comfort,
Once your done, you wash away the blood,
Hide the pain, hide the scars,
You don't say anything, not even a whisper,
Your pain just makes your mind stronger but your soul weaker,
Shoulders hunch in exhaustion,
Not from the cuts or the pain,
But from the feeling of being unheard,
Another...

Unexpressed
There are tears that I can’t weep
There are truths that I can’t speak
I have pains that I can’t express
No words can coalesce
To depict my pain and sorrow
A smile, a laugh, I will borrow
Hide my identity, my sorrow, the truth
The words leaving my lips will be mute
For no language has power or force
To show my feelings, my remorse
I’ll lock the words in my heart and throw away the key
Disguise the truth so that no one could disagree with me
There are truths that I can’t speak
I have pains that I can’t express

Dead
Lifeless corpse lying on the cold, harsh floor,
Eyes once filled with life, now stare aimlessly at the wall,
Surrounded by its own blood, it lays still,
Waiting for someone to come and weep, for the life that was lost,
Yet no one shows up to see the pale, bruised, bloody body,
It lays in the eerie silence and waits for a sign,
From the outside, one might only see a dead body,
But no one sees the soul inside, stuck in between,
Trapped in its former body, it searches for a way out,
Once it leaves, it doesn’t spare...

Extinction Nears
Darkness rises over the horizon
Swallows any form of light
People cry in despair and raise their heads in a prayer
But there is no help in sight
Hatred overshadows love
Destroys happiness and hope
People scream in frustration
But no one knows how to cope
Sadness enters when hope dies
Death becomes imminent
Bodies lay on the green grass
Life becomes imprisonment
Demons arise from underground
Open the gates to hell
Souls try with all their might to run
But hell is where they will dwell
