Bacon
Bacon: A self-self-deprecating view of men.
"Bacon" the human
male equivalent of "Squirrel".
Their mind stops. No thought.
Total distraction.
They cannot resist its call.
Just an empty mind.
"Bacon! I love it!
How can I find it this time?
Got to get me some!"
Easily molded.
They forget the thoughts before.
Guide them where you will.

OBSERVATIONAL POEM

Hummingbirds
Hummingbirds feeding.
Buzzing wings - guard the nectar.
Interlopers flee.
One smaller hummer
darts and dodges. Expert wings.
Territory raid.
Watching to invade
it makes a move. They counter.
Fast rush. Wings ignite.
Around the porch post.
Wings stop - dropping like a stone.
They chase, unaware.
Out in the garden,
the defenders rocket on.
Falling for the trick.
Silently rising
the smart one sips at leisure.
Satisfied again.
