My Burden To Bare
A burden of mine alone.
Not to be shared,
Never placed upon you.
I ask not that you share this weight.
Intent never for pain,
Depressed by the struggle you see.
I bare the burden of others.
The division of this burden with you,
Is no option!
Your path is to be burden free,
And different from me.

Fighting for your soul….
You are my baby, son, and responsibility.
I gave birth to you and accepted the role of nurturer to inspirit growth.
The growth of a man, not statistic. To educate you on accountability and responsibility. To give you a fighting chance, with a future.
These days the fight is a none stop task. Kids will be kids and learn from their mistakes “they” say.
Until the mistake’s so great. There is no rewind, can’t take it back. Then “they” say, “why didn’t I?”
But I try and you deny…. the need to parent… Because kids will be kids, right? ...

Man In The Mirror
My brothers I challenge thee to glance at oneself…. What do you see?
Is the person at hand familiar to thee?
Is that the man you truly wish you could be?
A mere reflection, or imposter at hand.
Is the one looking back who you’d call a man?
A man is strong with the strength of intent.
He leads by example for you to know what is meant.
He’s a leader and educates those that he guides. His intentions pure, as he swallows his pride.
That man is the strength that can bring something new. Forge the bond that’s forever like few. ...

Listening with distraction of thoughts of what to do and errands to run, rather than active listening.
Dismissing my feelings and emotions as irrelevant for your attention.
Self absorbed in your own needs and wants that you forget the sun doesn’t just rise and set on you.
Open your eyes today and see... truly see the people that are around you, because if they matter take notice...
For there may not be anyone there to notice tomorrow.
