What did you watch on TV over Christmas?

I was at my dad’s, so watched terrestrial telly for the most part, in particular Christmas specials. Rounded out Christmas Day with The Larkins, a dull and schmaltzy remake of the David Jason/Pam Ferris classic, The Darling Buds of May. It was awful - lame jokes, cheap production that looked more like a daytime soap than a period drama, and the merest of plot.

Death in Paradise on Boxing Day was a lot better. A cozy mystery series about a British policeman on a Caribbean island, the plot was clever but easy to follow, the characters likeable, and the Caribbean-at-Christmas setting fun.

Oh yeah, I always see bits of that around Christmas. My requisite awful rom-com was The Proposal.
