White foam floating the skies
Woollen haven of water and air
Icy crystals glittering and shining
And glistening in the presence
Of a star which is envy of its beauty
Shapeless but with many shapes
Gently strolling the blue canvas
Unlike its grey kin wreaking havoc
Where only thunder is presented
And strokes of electricity bringing
The cries of the gods upon our pitiable planet
No, nothing like its kin
More tender and placid
Its amiable presence
Arrives with gentle showers
Of cooling droplets
To wash away our pain
And its vastness shades
Us from the mighty sun
Burning us to our end
Woollen haven of water and air
Icy crystals glittering and shining
And glistening in the presence
Of a star which is envy of its beauty
Shapeless but with many shapes
Gently strolling the blue canvas
Unlike its grey kin wreaking havoc
Where only thunder is presented
And strokes of electricity bringing
The cries of the gods upon our pitiable planet
No, nothing like its kin
More tender and placid
Its amiable presence
Arrives with gentle showers
Of cooling droplets
To wash away our pain
And its vastness shades
Us from the mighty sun
Burning us to our end

Thanks all for your entries. Jon Rodgers (Six-Out) won through sheer beauty of his words. The verses all describe tiny, insignificant bits of life, which the writing and the theme bring together into real depth and and thoughts of actual import.
Kameron came in second because her piece had such a dreamy, flowy feel, that a fleeting little thought about some bauble hanging outside (or so I interpreted it, anyway) was truly beautiful as well.
Some others (Aish and DB in particular) deserve commendation as well for acidic and humorous tones, respectively, but of course thank you everyone for keeping a high standard of poetry and making it difficult for me to choose!
