So I thought it would be cool to read some poetry about where you were when some of the best music from the 70ties Era  was on the Top 100 billboards list and how it made you feel or feels if you're not from that Era.....

The 70ties

War is on the table        
and not just in the fields overseas,        
but in the hands        
of our neighbor man,        
and their offspring.    
We're all fucking damned!        
       
Still,        
we believed in the dream        
back then,        
demonstrating        
our rights
in our land,        
we all had a plan...        
       
Racism in full swing        
and the freedom to love and express freely        
is fastly becoming a non-thing....        
       
Bibles burning        
mothers killing,        
high heel sneakers        
and bell bottom pants,        
feathered hair,        
unlimited Sex....        
       
       
Johnny Bag of Donuts        
wants the pay off        
crooked cops and citizens        
pedophiles creep out from their        
closet....
       
       
Politicians are fucking your sisters,        
and your sister is fucking        
Their fathers...        
                       All for a nice slice of the American Pie.

The Wonder Years

A transformation is taking place
The mammas boy is starting to
Take his first steps into the world
The self is waking up and
Beginning to discover his wondrous realm
Of music, dance, his peers, social construction and his place in it,
Better still he’s starting to discover those
Amazing young creatures, girls.....
The awkwardness of being a middle schooler
Is trying to be discarded as
The façade of coolness is being constructed
At his first party he dresses to kill
Silk printed shirt with
Polyester matching colored bell bottomed pants and
Platform shoes is the attire for slow dancing
He and his companions awkwardly strut through the door
And behold the altar where their youth
Will be sacrificed and they will become men
In a lowly lit living room music plays
KC and the Sunshine Band
Belts out “Get down Tonight” as
Young girls huddle together whispering in each other’s ear
Staring at the young men come to take a chance
They giggle and point trying to hint and choose
Hoping one of them will muster the courage
To ask them to dance and possibly more
He wastes no time and struts forward
As “Beth” begins to play
They lock eyes as he advances and he
Asks her to dance and holds out his hand
She nods in agreement, takes his hand and smiles at her friends
As she is lead away to the dance floor
Others take his lead and cross the threshold into manhood
In this lowly dim lit room
Two young bodies come together
Holding each other lightly at first
Timid in their attempts
They sway to the rhythms of “Beth”
Feeling each other’s warmth they press closer
In relief and self-assurance
She lays her head on his shoulder and
He smiles to his friends dancing next to them
They are on their way to becoming men and women
Just as fast as it started it ends and a fast song comes on
He panics and she stares at him unsure what they are supposed to do
He wants to run but plays it cool and begins to dance to
“Play that Funky Music White Boy”
She is elated and they remain
On the dance floor for the time being
They dance and enjoy the moment
This beginning they'll never forget
Both have taken the leap and are happy for it
They Revel in their choice and are
Both eager and excited to meet the future
