Dinner with the Folks

I kill, for it is god's will
but upon kicking my junk habit
for the final time
I got involved with my Mother’s church
Even claimed to be a Christian
It gave me the sense of spiritual healing I craved
bringing me closer to God
through Christ
A few months later my concept of God
had evolved beyond any one religion
yet remained somewhat based on religious teachings

Fast forward thirteen months
to last night
I am visiting my Mother and Step-Father
who had invited a couple over from church
They are strong Christians
with strong morals
just like my parents

I sit at the dinner table
with four morally conservative Christians
no longer considering myself one of them
We feast on pork, beef, rice, beans, and a salad
Conversation is pleasant
We avoid the upcoming election talk
in which my views differ dramatically from theirs
Christ, however
could not be avoided

They inquire as to why they haven’t seen me at church
Respecting my Mother
I dance around the question
I refuse to lie
attempting to be evasive instead

My phone chimes
Text message
‘I want those sexy lips wrapped around my clit’
Oh Shit!
The Bible banging is in its embryo stage
and I’m sporting wood underneath the table
I can’t help but grin

We carry on in conversation
and I successfully skirt the issue
Talk turns to
skyscrapers
geography
and the negative effects of wheat on one’s health

We laugh and enjoy each other’s company
French Vanilla ice cream for dessert
My favorite
Followed by a game of dominoes
which I graciously decline
knowing that they have not yet reached
their Christ conversation quota

I step outside for a smoke
and reply to the text
while thinking of the four inside
and what they would say
about my relationship
with the neighbor’s wife

thinking that He knows better
and I, a small token in a real life
monopoly board, must obey.

It has been five millennia
Since I was a blind follower of "Our Creator"

Under his command I leveled cities
Discovered and created scientific miracles
Learned all there is in this dimension and the next
It was a dark point in my life
It was when
I killed for Gods' will

When I was influenced by his will
I decimated almost the entire human population
But in doing so
Gave nature it's first foothold into taking over it's territory once again.

And now I have realized the truth
All these years later
God, is not the only God
He is one of a million

He is a member in a race of keepers
The Keepers of Reality
And everything within His domain
Is one soul slightly altered
Under his command he is trying to make a perfect being
Every creature on planet earth is one

Imagine it
You, your parents, your significant other
You are all one being
Meant to learn all that you can in this dimension
For only one purpose
To become perfect

And since I have finally achieved such a feat
I am being transferred to another Gods dimension
To learn all that is possible there
Hopefully I am not to late

I have heard rumors
Rumors of the Gods fighting
Dimensions ripping
And the fabrics of the 'naturals'
Coming apart at the seems

i kill for it is God's will.

all the muslims and
all the buddhists and
all those other people who's beliefs
i wasn't taught about,
and everyone who never heard of
God's everlasting love,
you're going to Hell.

and maybe the jews.
and maybe the catholics.
and maybe the baptists and methodists, too.

those calvinists, though, huh!  They were a riot.

um...i'd like to suggest something..feel free to be offended...i'd like to suggest that the "i kill for it is God's will" first line thing be stripped away from the requirements.  it kind of rips the guts out of a potentially powerful thing sometimes if you sum up the whole of the situation in the very first line, and that bluntly, too--"i kill for it is God's will"--i mean, come on...and it limits from the first breath what the writer can do here.

or imply that the great, horrible thing is wonderful first,

let the thing slip into the soul,
until the reader almost agrees with the "lunatic" or whatever.
true, my little ditty up there isn't anything like what i'm suggesting, but i kind of just wrote it on the fly for kicks, and i might not live up to the "slipping into the soul" bit myself, and really i was just saying "wouldn't it be pretty" with the whole "whisper sweetly, imply it's great, etc. suggestion...

and a little bluntness does perhaps go with the subject matter in this case.  christians accuse the devil of being so persuasive...

oh, and ah...my first line for the poem i put up there was Not "i kill for it is God's will."  it was the line after that one.

...and you said "poems based off of christian believes"--of course, you may notice "believes" should be "beliefs."  yeah.

Well, it doesn't necessarily eliminate you. It depends on which perspective you see it.
Go up a few scrolls and read my entry. Do you think the first line requirement eliminated me in any way?

okay, don't make it illegal to not use the line, but i just think it shouldn't be necessary here.  maybe you could put something explaining it was necessary before the end of the first page or so.

I choose the line "I kill for its god's will" because I wanted it to be challenging for people I want to see what ideas would their mind think of with such an idea. Yes I know it should be beliefs but everyone makes mistakes. People understand the general idea though.

Now, an ex-pao is a someone who is no longer a pao.
One who has seen the truth in the darkness of life,

and also tries to pick up morals from the stories written
in the pao-codex(a book of tyranny and suffering and other abominable acts).
Then a pao tries to live and justify everyday actions
based on prior knowledge of the codex and the pao-padre's preachings.
If paos don't do this, or forget to do this,
then the paos are hypocrites for calling themselves pao.
Those paos who do this partially are still hypocrites,
but they don't like to see it that way because apparently,
they believe confessing one's wrong doings to the pao-padre
will grant them salvation (regardless of how deplorable they are in real life).

The ex-pao, the heretic, the free man/woman,
doesn't bear the burden or the divine(unnecessary) responsibility
of following rules set by men (arrogant, business minded men)
and hence is void of the stupidity of eating 'yeast' every Sunday
as the explicit rendition of some 1980 year old person's body shaped like a disc.
Nor do they feel the need to justify their acts
to anyone but themselves because in the end (or as far as our time here is concerned)
we have to search for our own salvation,
for no one will ever share theirs.

I kill for it is God's will,
and if a gun-toting girl ain't holy
I don't know what it is.

See, I'm tired of the filth
tired of the he-said-she-said

bullshit

you either did
or you didn't
and no matter how far
your head climbs
up your own ass

you'll either find the answers
or the sun reflecting
from your teeth.
