“Tasting Chinooks Under the Hollow Mountain”
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/displacedtexan/blogstartdatesept232005/noradnorthportal.jpg
I’ve traveled the world,
been to lots of interesting places,
looked into the eyes
of many faces,
seen joy,
seen pain,
listened to laughter,
watched tears fall like rain.
Believe me,
I take nothing for
granted anymore.
Sure, I’m thankful for
all the locations I’ve been to,
I wish those people all the best,
but no disrespect,
I love it here better.
Our looks can be deceiving,
we’ve got more freedoms
than you think, and
they don't come for free.
I think back to the times
when I tasted the Chinooks.
It’s impossible to describe,
we’d spit into the air,
watch it fly
sixty-miles-an-hour
to nowhere.
We’d shout expletives
at the top
of our lungs,
anything
we wanted
to say,
we’d let it rip,
listen to them taper away,
laughing like wild men.
We’d do all of these things
hidden under
the shadow of Cheyenne,
the sleeping-buffalo called NORAD.
These days,
I now realize
we’d never
have the freedom
to spit,
to cuss,
to say anything we wanted
if it weren’t for the people
working
twenty-four seven
inside
that hollow mountain.
God Bless them,
for the sacrifices they make,
for those made in the past
and for those
some will make in the future.
God Bless the United States of America.

All men are created equal, right?
" All men are born free and equal, and have certain natural, essential, and unalienable rights; among which may be reckoned the right of enjoying and defending their lives and liberties; that of acquiring, possessing, and protecting property; in fine, that of seeking and obtaining their safety and happiness."
As Thomas Jefferson said all men are created equal.
So why are we scared of something different.
Marriage is a sacred ceremony, I understand.
But, why can't we be different?
Why can't we love who we love?
Why does society look down on us?
Does it really matter what gender you love?
America is really hypocritical.
The land of the free,
But barely accepting gays.
A culture founded from oppression,
Yet we don't have acceptance for them.
After all,
God loves all his children.
He created them with every perfection, and flaw, that they may have.
So I can't change.
Even if I try.
Even if I wanted to.
I was born like this.
And no one can bring me down.

Oh American land,
the world's left hand,
Land of such faith-
have faith.
Behind your hamburger smiles,
and milkshake eyes,
try supersizing the reason
in why we hate and despise
It's that disabled euphoria of middle class hate,
that makes your country so inhabilitatingly great.
It's the to-and-fro-ing
the no-no-no-ing
the almost going-
then never slowing.
Short term strategies to long term demise,
the fact you find faith in god and french-fries
would aid the consumerism torn from your fear,
and the fact that your system's so obnoxiously queer.
That wasn't a slur-
so all you hilbillied-hicks
with homophobia for kicks,
should look in the mirror
and try to transfix
how effortless
discretion has been made to wait
throughout the media and the church.
Meanwhile heart attacks and contraceptives make the way up your interstate.

Ghosts in the New World
“There are no ghosts in the new world,”
The immigrant beamed and said,
“Surely no ghosts in this new world,”
Haunted through my brimful head.
“Look at the buildings tall and straight,
They seemingly pierce the heavens,
Look at the sky blue and clear,
And the massive synthetic reflections.”
“Look at the men in suit and tie,
Who line the pavement with their feet,
Models of effective perfection
Hazel hair short, smart, and neat.”
“There are no ghosts in the new world,”
Again he smiled and said,
“For sure no ghosts in this new world,”
Haunted my fearful head.
But the buildings scorn the praise received
So sharp are they, and high,
The buildings care not for us as
They keenly bleed the sky.
The men are void and damaged things
Who fill themselves only with wealth,
Whose sole pity comes from God above,
Which explains their corporal health.
“There are no ghosts in the new world!”
His fellow finally replied,
“I see no ghosts in this new world!”
I at last warily lied.

Winston Smith
People think I'm arrogant...just bullyin' with intellect,
Apparently, America's a pulley-system disconnected,
Prison sentence, victim-esque of cynicism it ingests,
It's a lesson in living less, inherently...with sin and death,
Been in debt, but warily...Introspective as Winston Smith,
And Big Brother had him in check--this isn't Chess, it's Internet,
And the tele-screens we've paid for...
We traded freedoms for felonies, just keep telling me that we've saved more...
Our well-being is well-demeaning, self-esteem? Self-defeating,
Selling things and felling dreams, just tell me what we came for..
This evolution's an illusion; despondency heading to war,
Revolution's a delusion too...just not as empty as yours,
He who campaigns for power...Abstains from honesty,
Handshakes for hours, but can't sustain the economy,
Back-braces are policy 'straightening facts'...Property,
Taxes break for cowards who landscape with our lottery,
Mandated hypocrisy, litigants fight to live with it...
Can't say it's democracy...if it's a crime syndicate...
Filthy souls and sparkling hands, everything done by push of a button,
Good-for-nothings looking for something, only stood for booking and judging...
Romancing darkening plans, loving money, and harvesting lands,
Corporations are running wild, orchestrating bargains with Man...
Trades ethical questions for edible cancers and medical marijuana like,
"What an incredible answer!"...Intellectuals wearing honor like,
'Targets' on their backs while shopping at 'Walmarts',
'Cause.. "I don't get into politics"...or colleges via scholarship,
And now that line between true genius and functioning alcoholic...
Is too fine to even acknowledge it...
America Strip One...The Orwellian Surveillance State,
Where characters switched up when your rebellion changed it's face,
O'Brian to Benedict Arnold…then Judas..
We'll turn on each other, and they're gonna use us.. to do it.

All men?
Or only the ones who had the pigmentation of a basic wall
Natural right .... really?
So it was naturally right, to rob them the right of even being close to a human being
This home of the free, was no where near free
This free land is stolen
There was and huge price to pay,and the blood was shed, even when it was swept under the rug
But then someone had lifed up the rug to sweep, and once again those who stood behind America pulled out another sheet and wrote some bullshit
The American dream right?
More like hell on earth,
Let me not get to deep into that wound I might hit an major vein
But then again, let's get deeper into the real problem
You see America believed in the dominoe theory to stop the spread of communism
But when you really look at it, once the dominoes were place back in order, the suspect was caught, which was bound to happen
America it was you it all started from, you root of all evil
Why should it have taken you so long to save those in need, but when less than a thousand of your men and some precious artilery get blown the fuck up you are on your way
Saving the day, you should have got your ass out of your head sooner, because with that a monolouge of long, horrible things began to happen
The dominoes are falling into place , the sun has peeped through
Youu see With America depression, lead to other depressions, which lead to a rise of and. evil dictator, who was very smart
And if only if your men weren't attacked you would have never known
Somehow you idiots adorn the faces that where craved
IDIOTS
They set you America up, now we look in awe at some damn sparkle
Yaye "we won indepence" Well we should have stayed under them
Because afterward, we crumble, rubbing the blood on our pants then washing them
Enough of the past , the past is the past
Let talks about now the 21 century
Gotta ask who's to blame for the 9/11 attack, yeah I know America didn't know, but you should have known they hated out western culture
But then some of you people had y'all boldness wedged tight up your asses, making very important bussineses close down
Which that really started our Depression once more.
So let's give a handclapp to thoses utterely senseless people
Let's fastfoward a little bit, motherfuckers are still lynching ......
I don't blame that African american or any other who has been harassed by Whites for making a remark or gesture toward that person
Hell taken from there homeland
Force to work, brutally abused, women rapped, men killed, families broken apart
Honestly I say America is in the closet bent over, but it has it guards and loop holes to make America look entirely great
Oh the great American Dream is a quick ride to hell and back now of days
Where was that sheet of paper when people really needed it

God bless the land of the free,
Land of the freaks getting fucked by corporate greed.
God bless the land of big oil, where billion dollar companies can't share the spoils.
God bless the land of the cheeseburger, land of clogged arteries where people pay to get murdered.
God bless the land of the gun, where respect is gained and measured by the amount of spilt blood.
God bless the land of deception, powerful speeches from puppet presidents.
God bless the land of the war machine, the cabals military killing in the name of peace.
God bless the land of organised slaughter, land that is being used to destroy itself in the name of the New World Order!
Wake up America, you aren't free!!!

new york roots
you'll never get anywhere better
then new york.
highest taxes
and our roads
are still shit.
the buildings are run down
and the homes are all broken.
poorly done graffiti
on the faces
of neglected kids
from big families.
no one does it like rochester
sixth most violent city
in the nation
and it's probably the smallest too.
i mean just today
there was a shoot out
right down the street
from my uncle's house
at a playground
...
hear how i said playground,
yeah.
there's something about this summer heat
turns people into killers
and there's no dealing with it
civilly,
so it looks like we're just gonna duke this out
like we're back in high school again
3:30
at the flagpole.
and i know
it's not the same
as some nameless town
in a third world country
where they have flies for snacks
instead of potato chips
but if you've never been here
then you'll never know
either.
and no matter
where i go
i'll never lose
my new york roots
people every where else
can smell it on you
they say
we have to drop
our new york attitudes
and yeah we may not all live in the apple city
and yeah we may not all talk like italians
but the rest is pretty much true.

America the beautiful
what a scandalous whore
a body made for death and a mind for war
all that you see is free and it always will be
said the white hat hero to the black hat villain
nothing's free just ask the Native Americans
that's if you can find one...

Just Another Cliche Poem About the Revolution.
Was it the quivering grey to my left,
or the one coated in red?
Nobody knows who fired the shot,
but it was the first of many more.
We were lined up in a row for a sure loss to the masses;
tomorrow we will find the trees.
The white X marks the spot,
we make red coat bleed into pristine fabric.
Strong and sure feet balance beneath shrubs,
and atop branches,
tomorrow we will find victory.
