The back azimuth to heaven

no silver spoon in mouth
a blackened one in hand
the illegitimate son of a train robber
we should have never told him that wrestling was not real
or that filling notebooks upon notebooks and singing songs
just wasn't good enough
mother always cried, but he never got used to it
"tie me off and i'll spread these broken wings and fly away one last time"
uncharted territory just north of of euphoria
ready or not god here he comes
screaming "olly olly ox and free" before he even arrives
the boat man only requests two coins but my brother provides the thirty pieces of silver he has held onto for years
the hanging tree's limbs would not hold
the world is never big enough when you peer at it through a microscope,
analyzing everything until it doesn't even exist
i'm sorry i was never much help my friend
too busy with my own loathing and travel plans
i'd like to say that i'll see you again someday
but i'm hoping that you have moved on to a better place
than i will ever see.........

Join the revelation for that congregation
Leave town , its easier to leave than
to be left alone.
My circle revolves around the same egoccentric scent I always observe. Its positive.I notice a joke a giggle.
What a beautiful human you are from this distance
The higher we climb the mountain by ourselves the
more truth is revealed, alone climbing that mountain.
Suprise I have a visitor and its just how I imagined
The intimacy of brotherhood and sisterhood compiled to a saviour of ectasy.
And then again alone feeling the sentiment of a live object.
I wonder is a wedding ring too hard to organise.
I wish you the best of fortunes and to your living things.
My occupation is to think...to sing...to play!!!
For Absent friends all think alike when theres diamonds in the sky.

Misery Haze

The Misery Haze swooped down eagle,
smothering what used to be light.
With both intestines twisting
themselves into individual nooses,
I mapped out my search-party
stations in blunt Black Biro
'find the treasure chest' crosses.

Walking the yellow brick road I leave
-carefully placed- tears in my wake
for if I ever wish to return homeward.
When inner-strength has decay gnawing
away the corners of his hero cape,
I placate myself that it’s possible
you’ll illuminate the after-life.
Running campaigns for unleashing
creativity in dead spirits,
you would own a sun-shine smile
with Oscar Wilde by your side.

Cancer crouches in the moonlight;
I am desperate to avenge your murder,
yet glistening fury clouds my vision
and my every strike lands hollow.
Panic. Rapid breaths are drawn shallow,
toppling out in uncontrolled laments.
The Misery Haze collects me in a bundle,
we drift homeward-bound following
the tear streaked path.
I'll return tommorow.

When We Were Young

The taste of sweet surrender on my lips as I plunge
Head first into the deep, sweet dreams of loving
You
All that haunt my nights are the images of your face
Of the hope I once had
Of us

The smell of you all over me
The smell of your sweat, your soul
As we sway, slowly
Like a boat in the waters of Venice
The magic of the moment engulfing me

The sound of my heart in my chest
Beating rythmically to another drum
Somewhere deeper down.

Inside, a rising warmth
Like ecstasy
Losing myself in your arms
Our wild, crazy game
Our voices trying hard to not be heard
And the look on my face
A bright, white smile
Thanking you for the opportunity to let go.

I miss those dreams.
Those moments when my body would cleave to itself
And my knees would fail at a thought,
One touch driving me wild
One touch causing every one of my bones to dance.

But you made her dance twice as much.
Her insides clung to you
And I was left on our bed all alone
Breathing hard,
Wishing you would come home instead
So that I could feel all the things we felt when we were young.

Look at that shimmering sun, baby.
Looks perfect over that blue clear sea,
you'd say. Probably.

Always preferred it a bit more woody.
See how that cold cold Sun bounces off the snow?
Too cold for me, and too hard. Just right.
It glares through the trees and I think
I could snipe it out, while slippin' around
in its scope.

You were made; path carefully beaten.
Walk at your leisure, take your time and it's ok
to trip. Someone will always catch you.
Why keep growing your muscles? You'd ask.
You're gettin' slow, you're gonna get hurt, you should've.

My left hip gets stiff, and my right shoulder
is lacking that grease it once warmed
and youth is smothered with breathing,
adrenaline can't numb this. Not now.

The gulls scavenge and make a fuckin' mess,
but I love their noise; it makes the sea,
you'd think. Subconsciously.

I'll take the woodpecker, the bluetits
and the barren-like screech of buzzards
because without this smile
(not the ugly one, with lips and teeth)
what am I?

When the sea's calm and the sun's way up
I hope you see a smile in your reflection
as I see mine in the woods, in the birds,
in the cold.

It was a good comp and a tough one to call. I have to give the trophy for this one to Ceejay.
