DIS-respect ME

Just as I promised. Fair is fair, so nobody feels singled out. I'm not afraid of a little criticism. I welcome it. I'm hoping this will be a revolving contest in which we parody one member every month.

- OK YOU NEED TO MAKE FUN OF ME, mock my style my work my themes my history, poke fun, praise, criticize, lampoon, imitate, honor.. whatever. - Make fun of my style, pick a poem and parody it, You can put me down and make fun of me all you want. This is also encouraged. Imitate the style of single poem. You can even tell why you are better than me. Or write one of your poems as If I had. Or imagine what I must be like. Be as mean or as funny as you want don't hold back.

- I'm not going to start arguing with you or getting mad at your post for doing exactly what I asked you to do. I'll do it smiling and I'm not going to clutter all this thread with complaining or defending myself after each post. That wouldn't be fair to you. Let it all hang out. I don't mind.

- You can only be mean if it is based upon fact if you're being honest. If you are making fun of a valid behavior that I do, or subject that I'm obsessed with. That has the best chance of winning. Just calling names counts for little. You can do it but, it's weak and you probably will lose. The only way to win is to actually read the poems, or you can't do a good job.

- Due to recent problems with similar contests WE CANNOT LET THE COMMENTING IN THE THREAD GETTING OUT OF HAND. I will try to keep a tight thread. TROLLING AND TOO MUCH CHATTER ARE DISCOURAGED. An occasional comment to say a poem was funny is fine, but not debate.

- PART TWO - THE WINNER GETS BOTH THE GLORY AND THE SHAME OF HAVING TO HOST THE EXACT CONTEST WHERE WE MOCK HIM/HER IN EXACTLY THE SAME MANOR. This is not recommended for those who cannot handle a little ribbing, but in the end you win from this, because in order to do a good job, we have to study your writing to find, style, idea, or poem to imitate or parody. We have to read just to even get a feel for your style. It gets you a bunch of reads from people looking at your older stuff too. It you've got thick enough skin for a couple barbs, you get more reads and we get to understand you better, while poking fun. Then your winner gets to host the next parody contest of themselves. Thus we better know each other and are lest likely to bicker for real if we get it out here.

Enter as many times if you want. IF YOU SUBMIT AN ENTRY IT MEANS YOU ARE PROMISING TO HOLD OF OF THESE SAME COMPS YOURSELF, SHOULD YOU BE CHOSEN THE WINNER. If for some reason you really want to submit something, but don't want to run a contest of your own, write a note at the end of you post saying so. I won't be able to pick you as a winner, but you can still post your entries.

I don't know. A couple of them made a splash. We all went crazy at Eric's expense, and I promised at the time to be fair and give equal opportunity, so true to my word as soon as my other contests ended, here it is. Carte blanche. Eamon had said he would be interested. I like to watch celebrity roasts. I find the genre to be very funny. But love and respect or a parody of the poet's style are also acceptable. That's why I asked you to re-post here and get it started. Maybe I'm just too boring to poke fun at. Well I've got 30 days to find out now.

Heh, you're hardly boring to poke fun at, I think it's more the fact that people respect you far more than they do Eric, in blatant honesty. Half of our best poets here don't like him personally. = u =

Oh I don't care. I can read through reams of comments. I just don't want to get debating. Thank you both. I was hoping to maybe see a couple poems where a guy takes a dump and has an atheistic epiphany. Some Mexicans wander in and do some drugs. The main character drives fast in his car and realizes than no message was the message. Some such shit. I'll take the love too, and all is forgiven in advance Devilish. Any press is good press.
