I believe in making sacrifices for personal gain
Like running out late at night for a fix
The price is a bit higher than it was last week
It's cool.

It's not like I can think clearly enough to do the math
As I'm handing over those crumpled bills
I cut someone off in my rush to get home
Good thing.

No police were there I forgot to bring my license
Back at my apartment, I waste no time
The sign on the door is a deep red colour now
It still reads 'rent overdue' just like always
Whatever.

I hustle to my room with the goods
I don't know why I still lock the door behind me
Janine stormed out months ago
No Matter. Probably for the best.

I take my treaure out of the bag
My armpit passes dangerously close to my nose
I stink of urine and sweat
Or maybe they call it anticipation..
Who gives?

I take the stuff in my hand
But I'm shaking
And it falls to the floor
It takes a minute to recover from the panic
But at least I got more than one
Going down it soothes, burning ever so slightly
And feeling like nothing else on Earth
After a few hours I run out
And remember again why I choose to live my life this way
It's all for you
Dr. Pepper you so crazy

Is this posted on your poems because I'd love to add this to my reading list.  I was dying laughing.

Full Metal Jacket

He came home loaded
Waving himself in the air, threatening to go off
Barreling down upon his targets
Barely contained inside a chamber

It was nothing new
He always went off half-cocked and came back fully loaded
Waving himself in the air, threatening to go off
He liked the way we'd cower when his attention was turned our way
Barreling down upon us
Barely contained inside his dizzily spinning chambers

It was nothing new
But tonight, the safety was off and his hands were shaking
He was aiming to spit fire
To leave powder burns and bleeding wounds

Tonight the safety was off and his hands were shaking
And he waved himself around so we could cower

I was nothing new
But his attention turned toward me
Fully loaded, the spinning chamber locked itself in place
And he raised himself in the air, aiming to spit fire
To leave powder burns and bleeding wounds

He didn't like the way I cowered
And that's all the trigger needed
He set his sights on the hammer's mark and applied pressure
It was nothing new

But this time, when the hammer struck the casing,
A spark ignited inside the tightly packed powder
And the explosion became expression

A snap released a weapon lying dormant in a holster
(In the proper place to put it)
and it was something new

With no intent to cower
Fire spat and powder burned
Spent rounds ejected
While the carriage went for more

Sights set and shaking hands
Leaving empty spinning chambers
Powder burns and bleeding wounds
And hammers striking hollow casings

I barreled down upon him
Sights set and waving, threatening to go off
But there was something new
I liked the way he cowered
And I was aiming to spit fire

Fallen From Grace

A new light of darkness dawns
Quickly subdued by sinister creatures
A constant pained disgrace
Of purging the learned rules.

With time the chill of the earth draws in
This wretch, a religious lunatic
Chained and deprived of all thoughts
Struggles of the heart and soul
A vow to disown the
Only God he has ever known.

Entrusted thoughts, learned feelings,
Dedicated to saving grace.
Tired of pleasing, tired of forgiving
A will, not of his own
Leaving a bitter taste
Constantly swallowed.

Dubbed as evil, outfitted with sin
Gifted with morbid roads ahead.
A succubus bride to keep him satisfied.
Fueled with blackened knowledge
A continuous battle without fear
To be heir to the throne.

A Master of Puppets
Roaming this fiery land.
A fallen Angel, a Brother to Sin.
A Evil Puppeteer of all mankind
Shape shifter of evil
Living in eternal fiery bliss......

Six Feet Under

Under the darkness of the sky I search
For the rotting bodies of society.
Longing for their blood, I thirst
Craving their flesh inside of me.
Whispering voices inside of my head
Keep me company as I feed.
I open a coffin and chew on the flesh,
Blood covered maggots crawl between my teeth.
I chew and chew till all thats left is bone,
Sitting six feet under the cool wind.
I realize I'm never alone,
The voices continue to make me sin.
I crawl out the grave on this foggy night.
To find a more filling casket.
Outside, two men dressed in white
Help me into a straight jacket.
As they slowly drive me away,
I look out the fogged glass and smile.
Regurgitate blood and decaying remains,
Laughing at a scene so vile.

I must be crazy

Because they locked me up

Because I said I was a witch

And thought I could fly

Only two nurses

Doing rounds in the night

Did not see the shape-shifter

Walking to the light

Walking through the locked door

Walking through the window

Clicked my heels twice

Looked very nice

Found my broom

Battery still working

Flew home to Salem!
