2025 Official NaPoWriMo Discussion Thread!
The Whirlpool Galaxy, also known as M51 or NGC 5194, is a grand-design spiral galaxy interacting with a smaller galaxy, NGC 5195. It's located approximately 31 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatici. The interaction with NGC 5195 causes waves in the Whirlpool's disk, leading to compression of gas and dust, resulting in intense star formation in the galaxy's arms.
Yo Ho, NaPoets! T-MINUS TWO MORE DAYS ( if you haven't already posted today )! Looks like everyone buckled in TIGHTLY in the Whirlpool Galaxy yesterday!
That's good because today we're headed for the Antennae Galaxies to retrieve a very special signal! You can unbuckle, relax and enjoy some refreshing mimosas made with Tang, the astronauts drink!

T-MINUS ONE MORE DAY ( if you haven't already posted today )! Congratulations to our current finishers on hanging in there in honor of poetry and in memory of Eerie! I know it hasn't been easy; however, you hung in there and pushed forward despite the site's shadow of imminent closing.
