Poetic Soul
The poetic soul sees beyond the horizon, looking through the depths of the ocean,
With lenses of moonstone to touch what’s hidden from the naked eye.
Drifting along waves of wonders and clouds of thoughts, drawing closer
To the universe’s core to peel back the blue mantles of the sky.
A gift ever so tender, painting poiesis into a bubble to wear,
Breathing life into objects so they become more, a company for the living.
Poetry’s a voice for the quietude that longs to be set free with the tide,
Words for the unspoken side, weaving an art that brims with sensation.
Everything around fades into a blur, yet you’ve never felt so clear,
A mirror of Erised echoing unseen stars that twinkle within us.
Everything around fades into a blur, yet you’ve never felt so clear,
A mirror of Erised echoing unseen stars that twinkle within us.

behold
pinpricked momentum
a fleeting dandelion seed travels
in frequencies folding unfolding
tenderest tendrils
the carousel trembles
cobwebs dewed
musk healed these calf bones
spear cutting silence
re embers healing salvia
I lay in the wolf trap
amidst winter
witnessing moon
and life
is my lover again

Deeper Underground I Go
I can’t count the number
of poems I’ve expelled
beyond the busted seams
of experience
As if those seams could keep
the poems from my voice
How many emotions
were galactic tapestries
unraveling from a solar plexus
storing so many lives
How many verses reflect
the present
versus the ghosts
of a former century
And yet,
deeper underground
I go
The trick to navigating
the bowels of the beast
is not succumbing
to illusion over reality
Digesting one moment
at a time, with more to follow
chewed and swallowed
as a multi-course dinner
if we're lucky
Just when I feel
the depth has reached its peak
Light becomes
contraband
and I a smuggler
in disguise
Breath becomes an anchor
to those who’ve been buried
in a circumstantial landslide
Yet,
deeper underground
I go
until the pen breaks blood
What good is breath then
within a rockslide of mud
How many decades
have been weighed
by milestones
gripping hope
so tightly that fear
doesn’t have a chance
to steal away the heart
And,
deeper underground
I go
I’ve been told
I didn’t dream big enough
my worth measured
by spoons and opinions
instead of scales
and a feather
But I have accomplished
the biggest dream
of all—old age
and good health
How many times
have I sacrificed—
protested without provisions
to sustain my pride
How many years
have I survived
and conquered
the bleeding fists
and busted seams
of experience
regardless of an opponent's
status or friends
in high places
And still,
deeper underground
I go
refusing to release
that galactic loom—
weaving tapestries
of love and truth
destined to burst
and overflow
as if any seam could ever keep
this poem from my voice
regardless of what lifetime it is
because
deeper underground
I'll go
of poems I’ve expelled
beyond the busted seams
of experience
As if those seams could keep
the poems from my voice

There is only one number
The number one
All other digits are jumbled
I have too much confusion in my life
In order to annihilate my confusion, my time wasting activities,
I must get to one after the smoke clears
She will be my only weakness
Like many instances, things are not always what they seem
Many weaknesses are blessings in disguise, clouds with silver linings
She is my weakness
She is my blessing

Sown
It came
Crashing down like
An avalanche in slow motion
Steady and merciless
Hovering in the
Stillness and
Staleness of air
The scent of her womanliness
No longer as ripe
The high no long as exhilarating
Once a fine sugary plum
Now a bitter prune
Dried up like the options
She thought she'd
Always have
But no one
Ever told her
Not her mama..not her auntie
No one told her
That time was never
On her side
No one taught
Her about the seasons
A woman will go through
The inevitable change
She will have to endure
And reconcile
On her own terms
After the cacophony from
The echo chamber
Of youthful incognizance
Finally died down
Now she feels
The deafening silence
Beyond the hive where
Another life was waiting for her
Weighted with memories
Of a would be suitor
The one who cherished her
Who really had her best
Interests at heart
The one whose company she
Didn't learn to appreciate
Until nature began to exact its
Toll on the voluptuous body she allowed
The thrill a minute men
To use up at their leisure
Chasing phallic pleasure past
Her prime as time slipped further
Down her hourglass
Frame
The hot summer
Turned into a chilly fall
In the land of cause and effect
As the consequence
Of willful and woeful ignorance
Came home to roost in
Wistful thoughts
Leaving her alone with
No one to look
Beyond her eyes and
Validate her other feminine values
Feeling unnoticed..irrelevant
Going through the
Motions of her 9 to 5 existence
Destined to sleep
Through the harsh winter
In a king sized bed
With no king beside her
Just a drink..a dildo
And the company of her
Demons dancing on the embers
Of her seething regrets

Eulogy for a Phantom
She emerged from the tide at twilight,
her silhouette carved of obsidian and moonlight.
Hair that could snare the stars hung damp
with brine and mystery, each strand a story
that time itself dared not unravel.
Her eyes were twin storms—
not of fire and rain, but of forgotten galaxies,
swirling with a gravity that unmade me.
In her gaze, a thousand lifetimes echoed,
a siren’s lament calling me home
to shores I’d never known.
Smoke curled from the horizon,
a strange, metallic haze
that whispered of ruin long past.
The air carried a hum,
the trembling of a cosmos on the brink.
And though I knew it was folly,
I stepped toward her.
Her voice was not of words,
but of notes plucked from the strings of creation.
She spoke in waves, in silence,
in the pull of currents that defied reason.
She told me of a world beneath the waves—
an empire of glass and shadows,
a sanctuary for those who dared leave
the burden of breath behind.
And then, she kissed me.
Not the kiss of lovers
fumbling through the fire of youth,
but an elegy—
an offering to gods older than time.
Her lips were the edge of the abyss,
her touch the unmaking of matter.
I fell into her like a comet falling into the sun.
In that moment, I glimpsed eternity:
cities folded into themselves,
skies where colors were not yet born,
and beings of light weaving time
as if it were thread.
She unraveled me until I was nothing—
and everything.
When she pulled away,
I was no longer a man.
I was a shadow stretched across aeons,
a memory of flesh and blood
adrift in the fabric of existence.
And as she slipped back into the waves,
the horizon burned brighter,
the smoke rising like a hymn to gods unseen.
She left me with nothing but the knowledge
of what could never be,
and the aching truth that she was not mine
to follow.
I return now to the waking world,
to its dullness, its weight.
But she is there in every ripple of water,
every sigh of wind.
And when I close my eyes,
I hear her still—
the hymn of the phantom tide
calling me back.
her silhouette carved of obsidian and moonlight.
Hair that could snare the stars hung damp
with brine and mystery, each strand a story

Unlock A New Point Of View
Ignorance is bliss amongst the arrogant
Always coloring outside the proper lines
Seems every person has a different slant
Beautiful flowers covered by thorny vines
Never assume in a world painted with lies
It only complicates what seems to be real
Dark clouds cluster along pale blue skies
Peaceful hearts pray for all wounds to heal
Time is a prisoner to orchestrated violence
Watching as love struggles to break through
A writers words guiding lost souls in silence
Always eager to unlock a new point of view

String of Pearls, I
"And that that which sings and contemplates in you is still dwelling within the bounds of that first moment which scattered the stars into space."
Kahlil Gibran
***
Why do stars fall
And comets have tails
Why are there meteor showers
How vast the array of the sidereal heavens
Set for times, and signs, and seasons
How measures the sweep
And the breadth of it all
Who can answer the timeless questions
Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades,
Or loose the bands of Orion
Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season
Or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons
Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven
Canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth*
***
And what of me
I love to go out on warm, clear nights
Looking up at the stars
Meteor showers
Eclipses
The constellations
The vastness and depth of space captivate me
Wondering as the stars reel along their celestial courses
Through the black velvet hush of night
Do they remember all our earthbound wishes
The dreams they helped take flight
Or how I discovered their beauty
Reflected within your eyes
And what are wishes but dreams that are beyond us
Just as such is the beauty of stars
Perhaps tonight you’ll look up at the heavenly diamonds
Your eyes lingering a while as mine
And I hope your heart will find
Wherever you are
A wishing star
To wish upon as I

White Butterflies
The snow was like miniature white butterflies
in a beautifully choreographed flutter.
Always vanishing too soon.
So we wish upon a cluster of winter stars,
that permeate the mental bars.
Beneath the glow of the ambiguous moon.
The despair of not knowing if another cherished
day will exist.
The very dark between stars is what despair
cannot resist.
The snow falls in a stark silent rapture
of every fallen dream the heart still yearns to capture.
The moon is the wolf's trusted guiding light.
While the rabbit's eyes were bright with fright.
Not all is seen as butterflies,
as we approach the path of our own demise.
in a beautifully choreographed flutter.
Always vanishing too soon.
So we wish upon a cluster of winter stars,
that permeate the mental bars.
Beneath the glow of the ambiguous moon.
The despair of not knowing if another cherished

Neglected
Observations have become second nature
It wears on my conscience to consume it
Soft rain falling inside this spiritual theater
Why is it you doubt these words I commit?
Promises are best kept with everlasting love
The raven has become smitten with the dove
Balance is found on a road where wisdom lies
Before this spiderweb snares unknowing flies
Sacrifices are required to dine at their table
Wealth is only a formality in being accepted
Unlocking darkness inside this twisted fable
Is to be content while often being neglected

Three Insights
Behold the lines of faded legacy
Behold the lure of false integrity
May your body be held as church
Linking sanctuary of mind
To birth memory in urge
Teething on your hearts golden shine
Behold the dreary glare of consequence
Behold the deepest gallows in essence
Before your bridge crosses over
Intersect the ledge and return
Endure your failures hereafter
Gliding seamless like a winged wyrm
Behold the fissure of lost potential
Behold those serpent fields celestial
Rage against the onyx black sea
Wear its stains as your own weapon
Stay your hand as the lust recedes
Blessed be the hilt scorned by passion
May your cup become ever full once more
Adorned with stars your road to your shore.
