Mr. Pleasures
Will you remember me, when your inspiration no longer requires me. Lost memories, I wonder how so many years can pass as you watched me evolve and still continue to love me. It’s as if you took vows for me, only you were the only one standing at the alter while I was out defaming every part of me. I moved on, and pushed you away as best I could. Yet whenever I started writing, those distant memories always came floating back to me. Too many have spoken to just run away from me, run away from the grasps of this sexy, playful, kitty. Yet here you are, still within my reach. Could it be, you’re the only one who truly understands me? Or could it be, you chose to only see that young, naive side of me. It’s been six years baby. And yes I still wonder if I missed out seeing just how well the king of pleasures could really pleasure me… but that’s a different story. You do inspire me. Thank you for yet another piece.

Soft like Velvet
Just like flower petals you open up.
When life is feeling empty and
Extremely heavy you are the cup
That always remains full. You hand
Me parts of your soul and spirit
When mine is giving up. Your words
Bring hope. They are my one ticket
To the light in the darkness. Like birds
You fly me to a safer place. So my
Darling, I hope you never stop letting
The words float across the page die
Away. You are the soft and safe netting,
Protecting everyone. You are the ying
To my yang and the sweet to my sour.
You are like my miracle in the spring.
So I am thankful for you in every hour.

Her Words Smile
Her words smile through the page.
Is it poetry or thoughts whose
loveliness comes from their honesty?
Is she beautiful?
I think so.
To know her words
is to see her beauty.
Can I be smitten by words?
It has happened before.
Where are we going
on this dark night drive
in the desert? Please Faith,
write another word to give me light?

Hands behind the potters wheel
Firm but gentle touch
to see and have, what she possessed
glean a little of her gleam
bells that rang in a distant spire
a union of like minds so blessed
Move consciousness unto a higher plane
reassure; tomorrow is your day
grammar, "is that why you are misunderstood"
walk with you through storms
say "the rain it always stops, grey clouds clear away"
Muse that has a mellow chime, that rings
cajole you, when the time is right
I still treasure mine
still through loosed ties
nurture, with her diamond glints
Without it, my poetry would stink
stitching up each salvage edge
tipping one the nod, praise, the knowing wink
Firm hands upon unmoulded clay like dough
for her critique was polish to the glaze
fired through the angst that stifled so
sipping from the chalice, I am the pot she made
to see and have, what she possessed
glean a little of her gleam
bells that rang in a distant spire

Polymath
There's no use pretending otherwise,
so I'll give it to you straight:
I'm a very nosy parker.
I consider us to have a tentative friendship
and I've filled in details I didn't already know about you
with a quick Google, months ago.
Today, I watched your TED talk.
So now you know!
I learned a lot, while simuntaneously
not having a clue what you were talking about.
Your work explores the interface
between art and science,
robotics, space and architecture
which is bewildering to me,
a mere music teacher.
My domains are woodwind and (increasingly) languages
but you navigate my world as well;
a mentor for my beginner poetry,
who unwittingly prevents me from
uploading just any old drivel.
You inspire me to sit up straight,
to think more clearly
and to write more deliberately.
Somehow, I improve
if I know that you are watching
(or even think you might be).
A polymath, a polyglot
with very wide gifting,
you have much in common
with my other friends.
Inexplicably, I've surrounded myself
with fascinating people;
mainly super-brains.
This could make me feel inadequate
but I choose to learn and grow.
You also know
that both you and I
have extra reasons
to persevere, to graft,
to never stop trying
and to lean on others.
I don't think you knew
that I know,
but now you do.
What can I say?
I'm a very nosy parker.
I have good intentions.
I hope you don't mind
(and that this makes it up to you).

it doesn't just come
you’re a force, you
grown
with a power
lassoed pulled
to earth
sweat sting
fingers
dug through dirt
toes buried silt
on the bottom of a river
will
anchored 4 feet down round
the roots of an oak
resting in the ribs
of your rolling hills
you
breathe with the grass
blowing over in waves
burn runes into the rocks
with your eyes, you
sing in guttural moans
whisper in no secrets
scream
i.
am.
here.
now.
in your own voice
your own stance, you
hold it down with your goddamn boots
fuck oppression
in all its forms
but bend
the way
the grass
blows
&you
are contagious
