What Have We Done?
I’m dying of thirst but I cannot drink,
The waters are poisoned,
What have we done?
I’m famished but can’t eat,
The fruit is all spoiled,
Burned under the sun,
Oh what have we done?
The landscapes once green,
Are all now but a dream,
They have disappeared,
By the industrial machine.
The beautiful clear skies,
That once graced my eyes,
Are cold, dark and grey,
The blue has gone away.
The oceans aren’t clean,
All of its life now it seems,
Has left and vanished,
Never to be seen.
I’m dying of thirst but I cannot drink,
The waters are poisoned,
What have we done?
I’m famished but can’t eat,
The fruit is all spoiled,
Burned under the sun,
Oh what have we done?
The forests have burned,
Turned to ash and to dust,
And all the animals,
Scorched into the crust.
The mountains are gone,
They become wastelands,
And even the deserts,
Are now barren badlands,
The valleys now smoke,
With a hiss to the sky,
It’s seems like a nightmare,
Enough to make me cry.
I’m dying of thirst but I cannot drink
The waters are poisoned,
What have we done?
I’m famished but can’t eat,
The fruit is all spoiled,
Burned under the sun,
Oh what have we done?
But I found a seed,
Like hope that we need,
And so I pray to Mother,
To hear my plead,
I’m searching for water,
The wells are bone dry,
Still I have my faith,
Not all has gone awry.
And maybe my tears,
Will wet the earth,
And the seed will grow,
With hope for rebirth.
I’m dying of thirst but I cannot drink
The waters are poisoned,
What have we done?
I’m famished but can’t eat,
The fruit is all spoiled,
Burned under the sun,
But now a seed is planted
And hope has begun.

Aroura seed
The long day gone, wonders come as night descends
as warmth will fertilise each lying dormant seed
the life beyond that we struggle to just comprehend
of natures gift, the spring that we should not impede
It lies in colours beyond the horizon's curvature
Holding sure the lure, the germination to succeed
slow grace to be the composer of its only overture
nurture as it lies undisturbed, cosseted with rain and heat
Safe snuggled in its womb, now will come the test!
from just that tiny footprint, to establish just a sprout
venture forth, how immature and never seek to rest
but the cruel and hateful word awaits, without, a doubt
Those seeds we hold, is ours to cast on fertile ground
to spread on burned and arid plains
or swamped by brackish sea, to see it drown
see it rise, to greet the hues the sun ordained
As the phenomenon and its precociousness defies
now hear the ever ticking clock
the germ, as it remains unheeded by our troubled lives
how soon impending catastrophe? we committed on our watch
as warmth will fertilise each lying dormant seed
the life beyond that we struggle to just comprehend
of natures gift, the spring that we should not impede
As the phenomenon and its precociousness defies

the germ, as it remains unheeded by our troubled lives
how soon impending catastrophe? we committed on our watch

Thank you very much Crimsin. I have to admit that the song does have a resonating emotion. It really does speak to me at another level.
